UKIP leader, Diane James, resigns after 18 days

Shame really as she's probably the only truly intelligent person in the party. Apart from Douglas Carswell who I personally think has some form of autism. (not a criticism obviously - just means he's introverted and not rabble rousing enough to be leader.)

In b4 lock.

This thread is going its typical way already with cries of racist (which is apparently against new behaviours eg tarring a swathe of people as something and also followers). But as its pro-Remain I wonder how long it will be allowed to.... Remain. Lulz

Time for the libertarian party to become mainstream.

I agree but I want a libertarian party born out of the original ideas of libertarianism not that rubbish that they think is libertarianism in the USA.

Libertarianism was originally born in Europe and was a left wing movement and was similar to anarchism in that it rejected the idea of a centralised government that controlled peoples lives. It also fought for the rights of the individual over any centralised form of government. This is the type of party that I'd like to see in the UK but alas I doubt it will ever become popular.

What a great time to live in the uk. Blitz spirit lads!

You do realise that China has been deliberately devaluing its currency for decades to this kind of level for decades.

Their government is literally rolling round in stadiums full of cash because of it Shame they don't hand it out to the people like.

You do realise that's been great for British businesses these last few months. falling pound does not necessarily mean bad for the country. Look at the FTSE 100 and 250, they've been rocketing to almost historic highs

As for Diane James, i do wonder now if she was only a place-holder leader until Suzanne Evans was able to run again or another chance for Steven Woolfe to become leader. Diane James is a good politician and all but either of the other two would be better place to be a stronger leader, in particular Steven Woolfe. As this thread shows even after winning the referendum there are still people who underestimate UKIP, it was the establishments biggest mistake and their supporters haven't seemed to learnt the lesson, don't underestimate UKIP!

All we need to do now is scrap the more expensive green nonsense and get some cheap energy on line and we could easily head for an economic manufacturing boom (Much like has happened in the USA with the low cost fracked gas/oil http://www.cnbc.com/id/100592605 )

Sadly they had one mandate - that was met. Now what's going to happen? They don't have any other policies.

I expect they'll just fade away now.
