*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

Got to say as a Samsung S6 user due an upgrade in Jan, i was planning on waiting for the S8 but will now also want to wait a month or 2 after the S8 release so I'm sure they won't start blowing up as well.

I doubt this will hit them that hard in the long term. I'm not a samsung user so perhaps it would hit a little harder if I was but their other phones are all fine so there is no reason to think that any phones in the future will be dangerous.

You have to imagine that a $17bn loss would mean that they spend a lot of time and money figuring out exactly what caused this and how to make sure it never happens again.

I'm also starting a job where I'll need to be flying a lot. I don't want to have to turn my phone off completely in case it explodes mid-flight. Its a shame as the phone is really nice otherwise, the Samsung software is annoying though, wish Google still sold 3rd party phones with stock Android on them but never mind.

They've really **** the bed.

Note lines dead theyre gonna have to rebrand it under a different name or as an extension of the S Series if they bring it back.

My previous phones have been a Samsung galaxy s, Samsung galaxy s2, Samsung galaxy note 2, Samsung galaxy note 3 followed by the note 7. I think after this I might try an iPhone for the first time. Most likely the 128gb 7 plus, however it is quite pricey.

I came from the iPhone 6 to the Note 7, I wouldn't go back.

The iPhone looks to be a great phone but I love the ability to change most things with android where as with iOS, what you get is what you get. If that makes sense.

Or the S7 Edge, nothing else gets there for me. I wonder if we'll get compensated for accessories we've bought? Not a happy bunny. :(

I want compensation for the LED case as that is no use now whatsoever

Only the S7E comes close and with supposed S8 due in 4 months I'd be loathed to spend £600 on the S7E or £800 on Pixel XL

I can't say I'm looking forward to constant trips and calls to CPW to reverse my upgrade again :(

Not sure what I'm going to do about my next phone too. Sold my 5 and the only phone I was interested in was the 7. Do I get something cheap to get my by until something I like comes out or settle for the Pixel XL? Or the leap to apple?

S7 Edge Plus (with pen), samsung get your finger out! :D

Im half tempted to just keep my original GN7 you know. custom rom the sucker and get 100% battery usage again.

if they have any sense they'll offer a cost reduced s7 edge to hold onto the customer, they need to think about future sales and take the loss now. If they lose millions of customers to IOS they might not get them back, people will get used to the way their new OS works.
