*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

Quick question ..

I bought my LED case from Samsung retail store (CPW franchise) think they will refund ?

Bought direct from Samsung should get a refund. As to the rest we'll have to see. Someone said that senior Samsung execs were deciding what to do about this. Handtec won't refund my case.

I've got a S7 from work so not really interested in a S7 edge.. not sure now. I'd like a One Plus 3 but really the screen is too low resolution for a top end phone. Good news is that I guess I could use the S7 for the Gear VR still.

Glad I decided to stick with my note 4 now. I'd really been looking forward to the note 7,
But at the time of release the specs didn't seem a huge improvement so decided to hold fire for a while.

Ditto, still got my Note 4, which I believe is now the last really 'successful' Note in the series. Went downhill with the Note 5 doing an Apple by losing the battery/SD slot, then this polava with the 7.

The nearest to our Note 4 will be the S 7 Edge (at 5.5 inches) but no pen. So could go for that or the S 8 Edge when it comes out.

I personally would disagree. I think most tech reviewers would to. The Note 5 is an amazing device.

In the generation of the Note 4, I actually chose to use a Nexus 6 instead. Didn't like the 4 as much as the 3.

I dont want a stupid pixie phone I want a note 7.... Anyone else a bit gutted about all this? I would keep it but it will be software disabled eventually.

How can you say that when you haven't seen a Pixel in the flesh or had a play around with one? Personally I think it may be just the phone that Android has been waiting for i.e. pure Android in a premium device.

I think is looks nicer than the Note 7 IMO.

Ive see enough to know its ugly and not a patch on note 7. Only thing I like about it is stock android. hate finger print scanner on back to.

Call Centre staff get paid peanuts (I know as I work for a large insurance company which has multiple brands that all of you would know of) and if they were offered a time and a half to follow a script they would jump at the chance. That is why it worries me more because the staff themselves wouldn't have said no, so it implies that it wasn't offered from the top.

Anyways, I know I am going to miss the size (that is what she said) and the stylus, but I think we are all going to have to just suck it up. There isn't anything we can do other than refuse to return the Note 7. Funnily enough I did ask Samsung if the return was mandatory and they didn't give me a straight answer... they advised me that I was recommended to power it off but didn't really comment when I asked what would happened if I ignored the recommendation.

Pixel is a decent enough phone, it just isn't worth anywhere the asking price. the note7 had a top of range hdr screen, s-pen and full waterproofing; the pixelXL has AI assistant, to record everything you do in case the FBI need to know.

I'm guessing the Note7 will never get an update, its officially non existent now.

Alright chaps

I was absolutely gutted to hear the news today - i was close to finally pressing the button and getting my first Samsung and a note 7!

I currently have a 64GB Nexus 6p, solid phone and get updates in a timely manner but i'm getting bored!

Thinking of getting a Samsung S7 Edge for 6-12 months and then see what the new models are like i.e. Pixel/S8 etc.

I'm actually in Dubai in holiday next week, so could potentially pick up one cheaper and sell the 6p.

Thoughts? or should I just stick to the Nexus for now...

Cheers

Must vary from place to place I've managed the resource of contact centres for the last ten years for large banks, and other financial institutions and would struggle to get a large enough resource to meet demand this is likely to generate outside of hours. Still Im not sure they've ironed out all the details to be able to tell people yet, it took a few days on the first recall to get a consistent message and approach. Think I'm just gonna hit up an s7 edge and chalk it up as a loss. See if we get a Note or renamed variant next year
