Had VW collect my Golf for a service and when it was returned back to me I thought the fuel was a little low for the distance to and from the garage.

Checked the dash cam and the guy has driven it to the garage in a spirited manner and there is one interesting part where he races a fiesta st getting up to 78 in a 40.

Do I report it or leave it?

Makes me wonder what kinda monkeys work at garages when they do something as stupid as that when a dash cam is in the car..

And report it to the police too, get the knob fired and hopefully ruin his livelihood in the process. Besides, you need to cover your own arse just in case.

I'd hardly call that ragging it. He did a hard acceleration twice. I came in expecting some guy seriously ****ing up your car and was totally ready to advise you to get someone fired, but after seeing the footage it's not that bad is it?

Also he wasn't racing the Fiesta, it was just a traffic light GP, he braked as soon as the bend came up, even though the Fiesta went through flat out.

He seems like a calm driver, was calm even when the fiesta shot passed on the left, calm all the way round the roundabout. Yeah he put his foot down a little but it's not like he's breaking your car and he hasn't taken any risks.

He did 78mpg in a 40mpg, in all intends and purposes he broke the law using the OP's car, twice.

I never said he hasn't broken the law. I said he didn't rag it and didn't take risks and didn't break the car.

(at least during the few minutes of video)

I'd report purely for the music!

But,tbh, I'd expect somebody not to break the law in a customers car, have a word at the dealer and ask them to have a quiet word with him and point out any potential NIP will be forwarded to them.

Pretty lame video to be honest. Report them for breaking speed limits in your vehicle just in case you've been picked up on camera but don't expect more than that.

Pretty much my take on it.

He kept his foot in for a few seconds in a quick car, didn't rally it round any corners or take any risks.

I simply see nothin g wrong with his driving apart from breaking the speed limit. Nothing at all to report on that video.

You're being a typical dash cam owner, looking for problems where there are none in order to justify the dash cam purchase and be a general scumbag.
