Looking for a pair of gloves to help me through the winter !!

I cant decide on a few, so I need some more help if possible

I work in a warehouse at a supermarket, I unload lorries most of the day, be it dry grocery to freezer food !

so I am trying to find a suitable work glove
I've looked at professions like "haulage" and "warehouse" but not sure what to go for

I like a glove that is

Warm
Excellent grip
some water resistant at least for when it rains
some tear resistance would be nice too

Unless it was really wet I used to use some black thinsulate lined gloves - though they are a bit hit and miss getting the good ones - too many companies selling tat with the same description that aren't actually thinsulate lined :(

Also used some Mechanix gloves but again the originals were really good and now there are loads of bad knocks offs to wade through to find the good ones (EDIT: could buy direct I guess).

EDIT: I used to help out if things got really busy (which was usually cold weather around peak trading) though so no idea on what would stand upto longer time in wetter conditions.

Have a look at dirty riggers (read it carefully)

Brilliant for going up zip wires and a rainy days when I worked for Go ape.

Thanks all

great suggestions there !

I did buy some "Polyco Freezemaster II Gloves" but im not keen on them (too small anyway and its open cuff so barely go over my hands) which is going back so looking for an alternative

Depends how much dexterity you want/need

I have a pair of mec dex gloves that are insanely warm and hard wearing, but no use for fine work or reaching into pockets.

Honestly your best bet is to go to the local hardware store or farmers store and see what they have, normally the type thats a glove thats been "dipped" in rubber to form a coating are very good, youll find that style in everything from thin and flimsy (with no dexterity loss) right up to full winter ready.

The only gloves ive tried that retain dexterity, warmth and waterproofness are leather motorbike gloves, but that wont be cheap.

I used to use the below. Nice and warm and allow full movement and good grip.

ive ordered these
only about £5.50 including postage

I wanted the dexterity, nothing too "bulky" these seem like the best choice, but I was also torn at the "Skytec Argon" ones which look about the same

the mechanix and Dirty Rigger ones look really good
but hard to find at a decent price in the UK, so I gave up
was looking at the mechanix thermal knit ($10) but over here they are £50 !

just to update (maybe someone may find this thread useful)
Ordered Showa Thermogrip 451 Insulated Glove, in a larger size than I normal use, they were too big, but I tried them on and I thought they felt inadequate for the task that I needed them for, they didn't feel "warm" at all

so I sent them back and replace with,

Skytec Argon Thermal Gloves

These are approx. same price as the others, and these feel better constructed and have a fleecy liner, and they feel a lot warmer too!

So I'll be keeping the skytec gloves

Get some of the Skytec ones as well as they are pretty cheap and its always good to have a pair warming in your pocket while you wear another pair.

I have tried loads over the years as I work outside and found these to be the best for warmth vz dexterity.

EDIT: Doh, didnt read the whole thread. Glad you ended up with the Skytec gloves, they have been great for me. They take a bit of wearing in before they feel fully comfortable as they are a bit thicker than other gloves.
