Holiday destinations similar to Maldives water villas?

Hi guys,

We're planning a child free holiday next year to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We are both interested in a luxury beach resort. We've been to the maldives before and wondering if there's anything similar in the world with the white sandy beaches, shallow blue waters etc etc?

From what I can see, Bora Bora ticks the right boxes, but is rather far away!

Malaysia is fantastic, probably my favourite place so far - Though I haven't stayed in any Water villas.

Just go to bora bora... the flights are a ain but we'll worth it.

Much like going to Thailand. Well worth the 24 hours trip

This is why i'm looking forward to moving over to NZ, places like Fiji, Samoa and Hawaii etc aren't too far away

Yeah, one of the advantages of living in California too. I always get jealous of friends who vacation in Maui several times a year.
