Obviously what those people did was wrong/I'm not being an apologist even though it may come across that way, but it should be considered that you shouldn't completely write them off without knowing the circumstances and what those headline offences actually mean, but then you have to take a view on whether we should have rehabilitation or just throw away the key... and the latter's what you're choosing if you don't allow the latter (they won't be in prison, but they won't have a meaningful life).
