Hi, if I gave you £1,500 - £2,000 to go out and get a 65" TV, what would you come back with.

I've been reading lots of forums but no single TV comes up multiple times.

Thanks.

Without knowing what you indeed to use it for its difficult to say, but for me personally, i'm looking at the Samsung KS8000 in that price range.

For that price I would say the Samsung 65KS8000, it's been reduced to under £2000 now and if you keep an eye out there may be some 10% off codes knocking about. It seems to be well thought of on various forums - for example if you have a look on AVforums there's quite a long discussion on that series.

Standard "if you can stretch your budget" post alert.

I've just got the UE65KS9000 and it's immense. It's currently on offer at Currys and JL for £2199 instead of the £2899 rrp. Moving from 55" 1080p to 65" 4k is unreal.

I had a look at the Panasonic DX750 in Currys and not impressed with the styling. The bezel looks like a cheap aluminum picture frame.

John Lewis opened a store recently in Chelmsford and have a great TV department with a section for Panasonic, Sony, LG and Samsung. I was in there earlier.

I know it's edge lit, but in store the Samsung 65KS8000 looks just as good as the LG OLED E6V, which is over twice the price.

Panasonic 65DX902B looked good as well (I've always had Panasonic plasmas and currently have a 58AX802B 4k LED) but again it didn't look £800 better than the KS8000 despite being full array local dimming (FALD)

Thanks Sonny, I like the look of that one.

IPS 10 bit panel with a glass front. Viewing angles are sublime as is the colours. HDR is awesome.

Ideal if you don't have bright lighting in front of your tv, not so good if you do. I have a dimmer and tv on a cantilever wall bracket so I angle the tv away from the light so I have no issues but it is an issue for some.

10 bit too. I think I shall probably go for that at £400 less than the Samsung. I'm coming from a 50" Panasonic Viera plasma with a glass front, so that won't be an issue.

It's the ideal upgrade from plasma. That's why i recommend LG, cheaper than samsung and they offer better tv's in terms of picture and better sound quality too.

Samsung brand tax is extortionate they are fast becoming the new apple.
