Dell xps to TV issue

Recently got dell xps laptop, very nice but been finding it a issue connecting to TV.

What do i need as HDMI cables i tried dont fit the port on laptop, yet it says HDMI ?
Also the thunderbolt port i hear very quick but what cable could i use from that to TV?

Any help be great cheers

To the best of my knowledge no XPS laptop has a HDMI port. I know mine definitely doesn't. I have a USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect mine to a TV.

is it a mini hdmi socket on the laptop?

The XPS 15 has a full size HDMI port which fits a regular HDMI cable just fine - I have the latest 15" model.

Not tried HDMI over the USB-C port yet as I have the multi port adaptor for the RJ45 port.

How do you find the xps 15? it is one of the laptops I am considering. Do you carry it around much?

I haven't carried it around too much - in hand anyway! It's not that heavy to be honest - my tiny work Thinkpad feels like it weighs about as much!

I have the 4k screen version and the battery life isn't too bad - certainly can get a good 6/7 hours out of it in general use if not more.

I always have it plugged in when gaming so not sure about battery life there however!
