Hey guys, been a while since I've posted on this site, blimey..

I need advice on whether it would be appropriate to upgrade or wait. As I am currently awaiting for Battlefield 1 arrival I had the typical upgrade itch that can't be stopped!

I am currently using an Asus DCII 7950 (chunky card) OC.. During the beta I did notice some stutter and drops on High settings and fps ranging from low 30s to 60s, really inconsistent..

I've spotted some benchmarks for higher cards but can't find any similar GPUs as to mine..

I'm planning on getting a GPU that will last me with a budget of £200 - £300, which i know is in ranges of the 480 (4 or 8gb?), 1060, used 970.

What would be the best? Cheers

Excuse typos, typing from my phone

And there was me thinking new Battletoads was being released :(

Anyway, 480 is the way to go. As the game seems to like AMD cards more due to Vulkan and DX12.

From personal experience i have a 4gb 480 and i was seeing decent Frame rates in the beta on ultra settings at 1080p. I really dont think you will have any issues with either card, saying that people who dont upgrade often (like Me) seem to be preferring AMD for the extra oomph using DX12.

Bit the bullet and ordered myself a Sapphire 480 NITRO, didn't know OCUK do free next day delivery! Icing on the cake..

Looking forward to it and will definitely post up some benchmarks in comparison to my 7950 :D

Here is a nice bench here about BF1. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/battlefield_1_pc_graphics_benchmark_review,6.html

Imho RX480 is the way to go

I had very bad experience with GTX 970 so I went for RX 470 (£170) I'm not a massive gamer and its holding nice comparing to RX 480, shame there is a huge gap between 1060 and 1050 and 1060 has 3GB version not 4GB. Every time I'm trying to go green something goes wrong. Anyway both rx 480 and gtx 1060 make good choices .

There is something very wrong with geforce dx12 performance. It's not just max fps, it's the general smoothness of the game :/
