OMG CHANGE!! Please don't let them take away my out dated engine noises.
Imagine how nice the country will be with less engine noise. You don't need lots of noise for your brain to make the links with adrenaline and endorphins given off by g-force.

You sir are fantastically good at jumping.
Electric cars should play icecream van music, this will make kids more aware of their surroundings trying to find the icecream van. When another electric car is nearby it will play a different song so the noise becomes more annoying.

I thought the same but the Tesla changed my mind. They are mind-bendingly fast.

to a non petrol head noise is = nothing
to someone who loves cars, bikes it is quite an important thing! one thing that massively puts me of electric cars is the noise.

TBH I don't think if the car made sound or was silent that it would effect most pedestrian/car accidents.
In Swansea we have people being run over buy buses, not exactly the quietest things on the road.
We have so many people with headphones, talking on the phone etc that even if you put a fog horn on the front of a car they'd still miss it.

oh it would! trust me, from a regular city cyclists POV I can tell you that no sound = peopel walking into road without looking, daily thing.. it is so common that it's scary.

I have no issue with long standing members asking for assistance with a survey, I do however resent people with single figure post counts doing the same
With that in mind, I've completed your survey
I had a bike, with a de cat akrapovik. I like cars and engines. However, the lack of noise is almost as good as a proper exhaust sound.
Depending on how long you live you may not have the option (unless you buy something very very used).
Lots of noise around CNG at the moment, I'd be surprised if some form of internal combustion wasn't around for a while.
