What have you done to your car today?

Discovered a nice hole in the road that I didn't see which has damaged my NSF wheel and ruined a ps4

Now need to decide whether to get it fixed or put new wheels on the thing. Not happy with the recent amount off spending on the car given I dont even really like the bloody thing

Currently got the Focus ST at the bodyshop having the bonnet resprayed and the wings blended in.

Cruising around in a courtesy car: 05 Toyota Aygo Sport 1.0 litre with 3 cylinders.

A grand total of 67BHP. Power..
They should have given you a 1.25 litre Ford fiesta ..;)

Aygo 1.0 litre 68bhp 0-62 = 14.2 seconds top speed 99mph
Fiesta 1.25 litre 60bhp 0-62 = 16.9 seconds top speed 94mph

Ordered a pair of Goodyear F1 AS3 to be fitted next week.

Been holding off for financial reason but they are too close to 1.6mm on the inside for my liking. Since lowering it the camber is slightlly more negative which would explain it as they used to wear completely level.

Just means I'll order the camber bolts when I get paid so the now rears don't wear too uneven on the front.

Had a cheeky 1JZGTE twin turbo arrive today.

Got most of the parts needed to swap it in, just waiting on a turbo elbow to arrive.

Can't wait for some turbo action

Rough plan is to get the engine in and running asap to see if it has an alarming issues that need to be dealt with. If all goes well, then I will pull it back out to do a bit of a restoration/clean up ready for next year

What sort of power are you expecting from that Rainagul?

To begin with I will be running the turbocharger system off the factory boost controller, so should be in the region of 276hp & 363nm torque.

Assuming the engine is still operating within spec then I will up the boost until I near the max safe throughput of the stock turbo's, probably somewhere in the region of 350-380hp, 400+nm torque

I do remember! I just can't remember if it was an auto or a manual haha :) 5spd?

I'd love a 6spd but they're going for silly money

Yeah mine is a 5 speed. It will probably rip itself to pieces once I start throwing more boost in the engine, so slowly getting parts ready for a bmw gearbox conversion for when it happens :D

Any reason going for the 1JZ instead of the 2JZ? 1JZ was for the mk3 Supra?

My goal with this supra has been to build a fast, responsive setup that I can push on the streets before taking it on the track with minor preparation needed. I do love my current na engine but it's really asthmatic for what it is and I've hit the wall of progression with it bar spending a lot of money on a turbo setup and standalone ecu.

With the crazy prices on anything supra or 2J related at the moment. I would be looking at a 4k minimum investment to get a 2JZGTE or turbo my old 2JZGE to a reliable level.

Additionally, my current gearbox is a ticking timebomb when you start chucking more power at it.

So taking 4k, I would rather put 1k to getting a 1JZGTE and hitting a reasonable 350hp with a small boost up. Leaving me 3k to spend on suspension, bodywork, brakes, tyres, new gearbox rather than spunking it all on the 2JZGTE. I can then revisit the engine and more power in future, but I'd rather make sure the rest of the car is up to the task first because I don't hang around and need to trust the car isn't a liability

Edit: obviously if money was no object then yes I would go for a 2JZ all day long

Had slight problem with backlights but sorted now - One problem cant fix (yet) is my car is keyless and before you could get in and just turn radio on as I don't have a ACC mode. Now need to turn on ignition - At least don't often sit in car listening
