just bought gtx 970

The dimensions are noted on the box of the card. Otherwise look it up the model on the manufactors webpage. The rest of us cannot help you unless we have specific details on brand and model. Also if size is something you worry about (no pun intended) perhaps you should have looked it up first before buying.
If you are concerned about the size of a GTX970 (you didn't state which 970 you bought, and they vary in size), why didn't you check before you bought it ?
Is it me, or is it some people ?

I was gonna say it's a pretty big case. It's at least a Mid tower like my C70 which could house a pair of bricks with room to spare if need be.

Will easily fit, got about 13.5 inches for a GPU.
