Generous companies

Restocking some items costs a fortune, especially with distance selling, although smaller companies may not be so generous, and it isn't uncommon for them to charge a restocking fee, larger companies just can be bothered with the hassle and expense.

Nine times out of 10 they are left with a B Grade item on the shelf for years.

Generosity... Lmao...

Is this thread a p take?

Ok, maybe it's not generosity. Call it what you like. But I now have a brand new PSU free of charge and a door I can sell for around £80 if I want. Do you want to take the moral high ground too and tell me I should actually give them to charity?

Yes you should, but I doubt very much you will.

Moral high ground? What on earth you on about.
It's just economics. The stuff just isn't worth the time or money to recollect and attempt to resell as returned or used items.

Generosity doesn't apply in the situation.

I'd never give anything to charity. I'd be happy too, but as mentioned, the reason isn't generosity.

Why wouldn't you give anything to charity? I give loads of stuff to charities. Do you only think about yourself?

Since the financial crash there's a phenomenon in retail where companies seem to have to be either ultra-cheap Poundland/Primark type places or offer excellent customer service for a price premium e.g. John Lewis. Anything else seems to get squished (BHS).

It's just a shame that no matter where you shop, Primark or M&S, those clothes will be being made my children in a sweatshop in Bangladesh, forced labour in North Korea (Edinburgh Wool Mill I'm looking at you...), or more child labour in China.

Really is no getting away from the fact that all/most of our clothes are the result of exploitation. Hell, most of everything is, clothes or not. Depressing.

Not the same scenario as the chap you're replaying to, but I don't give anything material to charity either. I wear my clothes to destruction, literally. I also don't keep upgrading stuff if the old stuff works.

Therefore nothing material to give to charity.

Wanted to get rid of my CD/DVD collection recently. The charity shops don't want them :p Sold them at a loss on eBay. But I didn't want to send them to landfill.

Ok thinking back I bought a raffle ticket to s cat charity a month ago so I am a nice guy after all.

I must admit I'm the same.. I don't give anything to charity given anything that I'm throwing has lost all value to everyone. My old clothes go in one of the recycling container bank things though, so I guess that counts. (The 3p per kilo or whatever pitiful rate they actually get out of it).

No matter how much OP gives to charity, it wont make up for the fact that he throws tantrums at delivery guys doing their jobs and verbally attacks peoples personal wealth over the internet.

Such a strange man.

Hah, well played mate. It's always good to get things off your chest. Bet you feel better now eh :)

Your mistaken, clearly it was you who gets stuff off your chest. Not sure why having a go at people because they cant afford stuff makes you feel better though. I understand the delivery thing, i use to get impatient on christmas eve when i was a kid, though i admit, i never belittled father christmas.
