Need to change PCD on wheels (anyone know a wheel or machine shop?)

I've no idea, I am not a wheel manufacturer.

Asked manufacturer for a return, they are sending me return labels.

They'd likely tap the current holes, put in an insert, then re-drill. Or even press fit the insert, not something I'd want to be driving with.

Lots of hate for those wheels! I thought they looked great! Would have liked to have seen them on the Mustang!

Are you saying you love or hate them?

I absolutely love the finish, I did intend to take some photos with them on car, but when they did not fit I did not even try, just boxed them all back up.

I am asking for replacement, but I trust them to know what is best and what is safe, it is their livelihood and expertise after all building wheels.

Plus I am under sponsorship, hence the low cost of $650 vs retail of $3000 as such MRR will want things to go perfect and to handle this swiftly to a satisfactory manner. :)

I paid $1000 delivered and luckily I paid a while back when rate was around 1.37. :)

They said I can return them and they will re-machine the wheels and re-ship them out.

If all they will do is the same as what would be done in the UK then why send them back?

If they are replacing with new wheels with the correct fitting then fair enough.

Just in case, maybe mark one or two of them. Just something small to make sure they don't just re-drill and return.

It seems a bit strange that they seemed happy to advise you to just take them and get them redrilled locally when the general reaction in here has been  WTF.

To be honest if what I get back looks fine I will be happy, I am confident and trusting enough that a manufacturer that prides themselves in quality and service will do the right thing.

If they look wrong or botched I will kick up a fuss, but they are the expert and they have all the machinery to do it properly.

It is actually probably more hassle thinking about it for me to sort in the UK, as first I need to find somewhere, then when I do, can I trust them, then I need to get them there, get them back, get the invoice cover. It is just easier to let UPS collect them and drop them back off in a couple of weeks time when they are either replaced or re-manufactured.

I am fine either way, as long as it looks spot on and is safe and on the safe aspect I would fully trust the manufacturer to do the right thing, one would not expect them to chance their reputation especially on a set of wheels that are for sponsorship purposes.

To them it is their living, something they can do with ease and have all the correct machinery. The guy mentioned they put them in the machine, code in a few settings and 20 minutes later all done.

When I explained that here in the UK I know of no one, he quickly suggested to get them back to them as what is a simple job for them might not be possible for others or may not be done correctly. Shall see what comes back, end of the day if I am unhappy I just do a claim via payment processor which was paypal, but I did explain to them this car gets raced on the race track so if any strength to the wheel is lost it would be a major issue, the response was no integrity is lost. It is there wheel, they make them from ground up and know what is and what is not possible, if I was a manufacturer of wheels I would question it, but I am not and as such I trust the manufacturer to do the job right. They made a simple mistake, now they can put it right and hopefully correctly. :)

Cheap wheels probably?

Depends if you mean cheap as in poor quality or as in bargain, the quality is spot on but they are typically around £3000 for set, which I do not consider to be cheap at all. Though there are wheels that also cost £3000+ each but there are also wheels that cost under £100 each so I guess it depends from which end of the spectrum you are looking.

The fact I got them under 1k makes them a bargain for me personally and I very lucky with my timing for enquiring about them. :)

They look nasty anyway that is not an attractive finish. Keep your money in your pocket, after your refurb it looks lovely as it is with the current wheel colour!

Sub £1K for a set of 20" forged alloys with an unusual (and quite cool) brushed and clearcoated finish sounded good at first, but now they've sent the wrong size and have advised that you get them re-drilled, and have said they will re-drill them rather than replacing them, it seems less good. :p

I do think that your current wheels look great as is though. I'm not convinced these will look better! But its your car, so thats your call. :)

They said I can return them and they will re-machine the wheels and re-ship them out. Issue with that is shipping something all the way back to USA, then back to UK is expensive though they say they will cover but will they cover the second round of VAT and duty which was just over £200 as the wheels were only valued at $650.

Or they said get a local shop to do what they will do which is:
LET THEM KNOW TO DO A iNCERT FROM 5X120 -5X114.3
WE HAVE MORE THEN ENOUGH PAD AND ROOM TO DO SO.

As such I'd rather get it done locally, that way the wheels stay in my possession and it is only what they are going to do.

If I cannot find anywhere then I will just have to ship back and hope they will cover shipping and the re-charge of vat/duty.

Why would you pay VAT twice?

You don't pay VAT on goods leaving the country on a temporary basis, they travel with a declaration form there and back.

You shouldn't but sometimes it happens, had it myself in the past and had to argue the point, the UPS man would not leave items without having payment.
Once the sender called them and made it clear it was a replacement it was sorted but like you say if forms are not filled in or you get a by the book delivery driver it can be a royal pain.

In short you don't, if they insist either pay and claim back or refuse and then call them, explain and provide what they need and they should re-deliver.

Its fantastic value, the only other wheels I can compare with which are also a consideration and cost similar are the HRE flowforged but I prefer the MRR FS02 design more, its a little more unique and I personally love the brushed finish.

MRR has being in touch again, bit confusing now as they seem to be suggesting they will just send another set and I can just keep this set and make a coffee table or something, lol.

I meant you got a bargain, £3k wheels at 1/3rd price. Not sure how having sponsorship = poor quality.

That's ok. What's the offset? Lots of BMW fans on here, but then again, they don't seem to like anything it didn't roll out the factory with either. Bet they would have looked nice on my F11 when I had it.

They are 5x120, bore 70.50mm and offset ET40 front and ET55 rear, 20x10 and 20x11"

Yes it is a good price, I got it because as soon as they announced the new series I emailed enquiring and they said if I commit they'd do me $1000 delivered and I snatched their hands off because it was like 1/3 regular price, in exchange I had to post a lot of photos up which I naturally do anyway. I was also allowed any finish, so I went with brushed because I personally love it, second option was polished which everyone also hates, lol.

Then they realised I was in UK and they wanted a USA customer, so I got sidetracked until they had met demand for all US customers, hence delays and their launch for the series on BMW and Ferrari, then they came back to my set and honoured their agreement of $1000 delivered even to the UK. :)

The only issue now is the error, am sure they will sort it, not in a rush anyway it is just annoying.
