What are my rights? None delivery

Assuming this company is a big one the addressing will be automated and OP has already stated his name appears on the order confirmation and invoice. I then find it hard to believe they omitted it on the final label, and even if they did, you would have a hard time proving it unless the parcel turns up.

What if it's just on someones desk that forgot about it? I would keep trying at work for a while and maybe try other departments - things can just end up in a random department - happened a few times at work - also stuff actually delivered to wrong business!!! Double check the GPS data maybe?

If need be, start a campaign of rumours accusing people of being suspected to see if it turns anything up! A few anonymous letters to get tongues wagging.:D

Seriously though, you could send a parcel the same way with OcUK tape (or who ever the etailer was) all around it so the person can identify it may be of value and see if you can catch them out! At least it would give you some idea of where it went within the company.

If Paypal side with the seller... open a police report then appeal Paypal's decision and include the crime reference number and you'll get your refund.

If you still have problems - go to you card issuer - debit or credit, you can still do a chargeback.

So the postman is expected to hold on to every letter and parcel until he can hand it to the recipient personally? No one would ever get mail.

There's a difference between practical solutions and solutions that fulfill a legal obligation. While the postman handing it to someone may work in the vast majority of cases this doesn't mean if the practical solution fails the legal obligation goes away.

1. When did Royal Mail start doing tracked deliveries with no signature required? I have asked royal mail where exactly they have left it or with who and they are going to make inquiries to see if their driver can remember but surely a signature and name used to serve that purpose?

2. IS Royal Mail Tracked with no signature going to be sufficient proof that they have been delivered so Paypal will side with them?

3. I suspect some scrote took the delivery on the Saturday and kept the parcel when they saw there was no name on it and where it was from. But we have loads of temps working on Saturdays on site and some never come back so I suspect it will be gone for good. Should I be entitled to a replacement/refund since they failed to put my name on it?

4. I had a delivery earlier in the week from Royal Mail and I shouted at the driver for being late and was rude to him. Do you think that affected my parcel delivery later that week?

1) a while back
2) I doubt it
3) Why does your account not auto deliver in your name?
4) You what mate? You Shouted at him? Thread just lost all credibility

Offices shut on a Saturday so would have to be just one of the truck drivers/loading shovel operators or truck washers.

The only place it could be on the premises is the bait room/toilets and its not there.

Everywhere else is outside. Like I have said, we have a bunch of temporary staff work Saturdays. No point sending another package and seeing who might take it as that person might not be here anymore or working that Saturday.

Waiting for gps details as to exactly where Royal Mail delivered it.

It also turns out on further research that I didnt buy from a UK company but a chinese company. The website is registered in China.

Update!!!!!!!!

Amazingly Paypal have sided with me and refunded me in full :cool:

I assume the 48 tracked service with no signature wasn't good enough for Paypal's rules.

So all's well that ends well.

And the lesson learnt going forward for when I sell things myself is don't use a tracked service without signature

Don't beleive it. ANother package has just arrived at work, with no name on it but its my DAC and AMP.

Guess the retailer has sent another set out? No email from them telling me thats what they were going to do.

Will wait and see if Paypal takes the money again now.

Competitor so can't name and shame :(

Moral of the story

Always go with ocuk, sometimes they're a tiny bit more expensive but they make up for it in AMAZING customer service.

I remember when something didn't turn up, they sent a new one out which arrived a few days later and then the original turned up a week later!

me being nice, sent the original late delivery back even though they said i could keep it :D

i always say avoid royal mail unless its tracked and signed

OcUK's range of DACs and AMPs isn't exactly awash with choices.

Well it gets stranger. Etailer have finally lodged a request with royal mail to try and track the original parcel and royal mail have contacted me to discuss and enquire. They have indeed got it delivered here that day, no idea who to, just scanned as delivered.

They have confirmed my name was missing from the address. All their driver can remember was the guy was talking about that days footie match with Manchester United who received the parcel/

Guy from royal mail not bothered too much. He says they get it all the time and Royal Mail gets the blame for none delivery especially when there is no name on it.

He says their latest new tracked delivery service is even worse. With that one they are allowed to leave the parcel anyway, front doorstep, under a rock etc and the system scans the gps and takes a picture and emails/messages it to the customer to say its been delivered.

He reckons loads of parcels will go missing with that system as people will come home and find the parcel isn't there.
