To be fair short of mugshotting each and every one of them some people are never going to be happy. Seems unfair to make such a spectacle out of them in the media since they're just kids(or at least the majority probably are).

I'll agree the public feel lied to. The lies though come internally as much as externally. It seems that the anger toward these refugees which are seen as adults, are aimed at migrants rather than our failings to ensure the 'right' people enter.

Easy fix

The UK will stop giving benefits to anyone entering the country.
They will not want to come here then.
If they are genuine refugees then they will be given food vouchers not cash.

This. Plus if they are genuine refugees then they should settle wherever they can that is safe. Boggles the mind when they risk their lives to make it to a country on the other side of Europe, rather than stay in any of the nice countries they'd need to pass through. Not to mention having to cross the channel...

If you've escaped a war zone but then continue to put your family's lives in danger by attempting to travel all the way to the UK, then you're a greedy idiot and we already have too many of them over here.

Still don't get this. When I was 14 I was over 6" and had bumfluff on my face, along with several of my friends. Just because you're tall and have hair on your face doesn't mean you're an adult.

My question is what is removing the "jungle" actually going to do? The camp is a direct result of shutting down the official centre in the first place. The people aren't just going to move away from Calais as shown time and time again.

These aren't gangly teens with a bit of bumfluff. A large number appear to be filled out, fully developed adults.
