No Bigots Need Book An Airbnb Room

I rent out my rooms via airbnb here in Germany, and most of us that do are always fully booked for any arabs/north africans/muslims.

Maybe this is against the terms and conditions, but we continue to do it for our own safety.

HITLER!!!!

EDIT: It's your first post so I'll add a smiley to highlight this is not to be taken seriously.

A further question to those who think it is a good idea. Should all customers at hotels be blackmailed to sign such comm

Should all customers at hotels be blackmailed to sign such commitments before staying there or have their booking cancelled and lose their money?

A user on AirBnB isn't just exclusively allowed to rent rooms, but can host as well and so agree to T&Cs covering both. When an account is banned for breaching the hosting rules, then the entire account is banned.

That is not the case for Hotels.

This isn't just on AirBnB, the same holds for websites like Ebay or any other trading marketplace.

Then they lose out, amazingly.

No they don't.

The cost of non-compliance is far higher both legally and reputationally.

They have come to a rationale decision as to what the best course of action for the business is.

It is why large companies have large compliance departments, especially where dealing with consumers.

Well when your consumer is allowing their sovereign territory to be profited from, no... if the word gets out that a company is being aggressive against people in their own homes, people simply wont use it.

Thanks Sherlock, the majority of users are renters and they must sign it as well or lose their bookings and money, even though they are choosing where to stay with *prejudgment*. Airbnb said they want to be an example, so should all customers at hotels be blackmailed to sign such commitments before staying there or have their booking cancelled and lose their money?

Anyone who knows what's going on in Germany knows that your position is common sense.

Sovereignty? You do realise your home isn't your own state?

Everyone has to abide with local laws (doesn't matter if you are in your own home). Which is unambiguous in the UK and EU.

A business must comply with equality laws and AirBnB which doesn't want to enable the breaking of those laws is doing something about it.

Pfft, yes, that will go down very well, telling people they own nothing aswell.

You should start AirBNP as an alternative for all these people. ;)

Ok, we'll see if AirBnB collapses over the next year.

Then we'll see who was right. The people who changed the T&Cs or you.

I dont see how they'd collapse within a single year, considering the IPO entrance soon, im just saying longterm, they have issues with the way society is heading.

I personally wouldn't be put off having to agree to treat other people (staff or guests) in the hotel with respect. I doubt it would bother most people. As a hotel guest, your opportunities to be discriminatory towards others are limited but again wouldn't bother me really.

Edited some emphasis into the quote to help eldergeek understand

It's not a hotel - they're in your home, and you should be able to refuse entry.
