**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

From the sounds of things the Mi6 with ois and hopefully a camera that can compete with the current or next flagships phones, sounds perfect lets just hope it comes out this xmas!

I was about to buy a Moto g4 Dual Sim, until I started reading this thread. So I am now looking at the xiaomi phones, I quite fancy the Redmi Note 4, however I have a couple of concerns/questions.
What version do I need to buy, what ROM, I want to use a UK and a Spanish Sim card?
Will I be able to import my Google contacts?
Will I be able to import my WiFi passwords from my existing Moto G Dual Sim?
Thanks in advance.

In order to get google contacts etc is it just a case of adding Google play store APK via Airdroid etc?

Thanks

I have a Redmi Note 2. The camera on my wife's Moto x play is better.

I heard the redmi note 4 has an improved camera.

Changing ROMs is pretty easy.

Many people over @ hotuk discussing that LG G5 @ £336 @ mobile phones direct deal, seems better then the one plus many are saying.

Its a lovely phone but got the feeling something better at similar pricing will be available as it always is !

I was considering buying it, but then I read that there seems to be a common error with the GPS on it not working.

Yeah read that also bit, crazy to release a phone with iffy GPS, then again there always seems to be something iffy on all top end to mid end phones.

Many complained about the forever loop bug that LG phones get too.

Enough to put me off it, I looked at the YT G5 vs iphone6se/galaxy7 camera review and the LG G5 looked better quality and sharper but then the video quality was shaky and pixely.

I am quite surprised many £250-330 class phones giving the apple and samsung flagship phones a run for their money in camera quality and performance.

Will wait for Mi6 or anything else really, no real rush yet.

I actually really like the look of the Mi 5 but then there's the warranty issue, and I don't know if I would need to load some internation ROM on it, or if it will use all the UK bands correctly. Still not doing too bad with my LG G2, just I think it has memory issues since it runs terrible when I use Citymapper and it keeps having to reload web pages if I switch to another app and back to Firefox.

Anyone give me any good reasons why not to go for a Redmi 3S (32GB/3GB) in grey for £117?

http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_367774.html

I'm assuming if I pay the £10.35 expedited delivery I wont get slapped with customs charges etc too?

OR they've got it in Gold on a separate listing for £112 which looks like it comes from HK and says International Version with standard shipping at £1.19. The others dont mention being the international version.

Anyone know what the diff will be getting from the China one or HK one? Which would be best to go for? I'd prefer one I don't have to mess around with too much getting it to be less "Chinesified". I'm taking it one of these would be leaps and bounds ahead of my Moto G (1st Gen)?

I think expedited shipping is more likely to attract customs, they offer no guarantees re custom tax.More likely to slip under the net if you use slow mail.

Doubt it, they release their flagships roughly every 6 months so we're looking at March/April

I'm tempted by a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. It £125 with 5-10 day shipping on gearbest. What's the chance I'll get stung by import duty?

Also, what other Chinese site are good for Xiaomi phones?
