But the sad fact is, the USA/CIA is the root cause of all those deaths with it's constant meddling in those parts of the world.
Simple, no. But it is how it is.
Generally other cultures are far more family oriented than the west, both for young people/children and the elderly. The problem is you do "stupid"/risky things when you are completely desperate.

Just ignore it and move on with your life. You'll never fix the situation and no amount of money you can realistically give to any fund will help every child, this stuff happens every second of every day, it always has done and probably always will.

Nothing to do with our "foreign policy"
The Syrian conflict is a product of civil war, instability in neighbouring countries had been inhibited slightly by foreign (non UK) intervention.. But in Iraq for example, Saddam Hussein had to be deposed. Please don't buy in to anti establishment propaganda because you see something emotionally triggering. You are merely witnessing the depravity and horrible aspects of our world.
If it's happening in a foreign country where there is either a) conflict or b) corruption, then there is literally nothing you can do.
Syria may be partly the West's fault, but there are dozens of other places where kids are dying daily that is nothing to do with us.
Some people feel better by paying £3 a month to some charity or other... but for most charities, you'd need over 33,333 donations of £3 just to cover the CEOs salary.
So, accept you can't stop it, but that you can stop watching it. Why people choose to watch horrific videos of kids dying I cannot comprehend.

i know there are some videos i see of not just humans but animals too that make me pause and think about how i can donate more/do more etc. i guess you have to view it like it is, and that life isn't as safe as we've come to expect here. Everyday humans and animals struggle to survive, sleeping each night in fear that when they close their eyes they will be eaten alive, or even just bending down to eat some grass could kill an animal if they're not careful.
it's hard to imagine what it must be like, but the brains ability to deal with the emotions and trauma caused by what you saw is much better in these kids/animals etc than for us.

If everybody donated £10 a month to their favourite charity, you think things would improve? Or would charities simply siphon off more money in "admin" costs, CEO wages (most now >£100k).
I'm sure many UK charities do good work. But I'm also 100% sure that most charities are run like big business. I'd be amazed if even 25% of your donation actually got spent on the problem for which you donated it.
Having found Ogrish and then ******** many years ago i have seen far worse than that over the years. Really opens your eyes to some of the stuff you'd never see in the news. The world is a **** place for a lot of people. You should be very thankful you were born in a safe, prosperous country to raise your family.

Its the hard sell approach that charities try that annoys me. People hassling you in the street "don't you care about saving children?" **** off! you're only shouting that at me so other people look and I'll feel guilty.
If I want to donate I'll do it in my own time, I'm not setting up a direct debit with someone in the street who's trying to make me look bad in front of other people!
I've signed a few petitions online in the past for Greenpeace too, they then never stop bombarding you with phone calls wanting to setup direct debits. "oh, you have no money? well, we have the perfect plan for that too!"

Except it isnt is it, its a civil war, which we should have intervened in 5yrs ago, and now what you're watching is a consequence of people who have the power to do something, doing very little.

It's amazing how many people don't seem to realise this. Assad is responsible for the vast majority of civilian deaths in Syria - and he's unfortunately being propped up by Russia and Iran.
Having said that, if we'd intervened and saved 50% of those lives, we'd still be viewing it as a "quagmire" or whatever - and the media would be calling it "another Iraq" or something. Sometimes you're just damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Do it then. Adopt a child? Give all your money to a children related charity?

Why should he? It's not his fault, and saving one child isn't going to do anything. It's like Oxfam in Africa, yes they help....but we're not getting to the underlying cause of the issue. Governments need to sort it out.
Only when we overcome our dependence on fossil fuels will be even begin to make the world a fairer place for everyone.
Isn't it like 1% of the worlds population live above the poverty line

I agree he shouldn't have to, but I was questioning the comment of "I'd give it all to save a child" which is a lovely soundbite but rarely actually true.
