I don't agree.. he's talking about a time when Apple were releasing endless derivative options to try and boost sales.. that patently is not the case with Apple now.
They've released a product manufacturers product.. like a jony ive product.. sales, marketing and PR be damned.. they've got a vision which I suspect you disagree with and they've gone after that.
I'm not saying it won't be their downfall (it won't be their downfall) but it's not the same thing.
What they ignore is that laptops x,y and z are never the same laptop. I've even seem people comparing the new macbook pros with alienware monsters that are 5kg and 2 inches thick with 4 hours battery life and a horrible trackpad.
Their product cycles are a complete mess. You buy a new Macbook and a new iPhone and you can't even connect them without buying a dongle.
I just realise this...how on earth does this happen?? Unless they make a cable with thunderbolt/USB-C on one end and Lightning on the other?
