Do you ever get wound up by knowledge you think people should have?

I just cannot understand how people don't understand things like chip and pin, like how credit cards work, like how a kite needs the wind behind you?...

This weekend I was asked why a kite wouldn't fly, the person flying it said they didn't want to be downwind as the sun was in their eyes.....

Was I brought up different? I generally understand most common daily tasks or technology..

I just don't get it..

Yes I know it's not the best written post. I was in a rush!

Chip & Pin might be second nature to you, but it's not too hard to image someone having bought things via a physical exchange of cash or cheque their whole lives finding the concept - and therefore use - of Chip & Pin confusing

Give some examples, are you talking about a handfull of people over a few days/weeks or many more. What age are they, were you reading to much into it. Maybe they can physically use it but don't understand the science/mystery behind it.

I love old people that think the harder they press and bend your card against the C&P machines the better they work.

I saw an old lass push her card onto the screen and slowly slide it across when trying to use contactless the other day, everyone else looked a bit confused!

I actually get where you are coming from - though at the same time its not unreasonable to expect people to have different areas of knowledge/experience - but there are many areas that seem common sense to me or things that don't seem especially difficult to pickup on to me that I see many many people struggle with.

examples

Hi, where has the water gone? - tide was out
Why isn't it windy? - no wind forecast
It's raining? Why? - didn't check the foreacst?
You work in IT, why can't you fix my computer?

Sorry, also in a rush but I don't get it.

My missus is guilty, she will leave the house with no coat when it is due to rain.

Weather heavy I know..

This reminds me of people who press a traffic light button multiple times believing that somehow the traffic light is self aware, and it realizes that since you are pushing the button so much, you must really want to cross, so it will switch to the green man faster

Or they push it again after it's already lit up from being pushed, like the first time wasn't done properly and it really needs them to push it or it won't work.

I don't get desperately wound up by people who just don't know things, unless they just assume something, insist they know better and try to use that against me, especially when I'm trying to help them.

THIS TOO!!

I get to the crossing, before I press the button I look to see if there is a gap in the traffic to cross. I don't want to slow anyone down..

I wonder this on a daily basis. I can only assume that some of the people I work with must sit in their houses in darkness or spend a fortune on electricians based on their inability to switch on a monitor.
I was trying to explain to an acquaintance the other day that miles-per-hour means how many miles you travel in an hour. He was quite adamant that you could travel the same distance in the same time but at a lower speed.

OMG! wow?!

People do this at work with lifts... really grates my pee.. they think if they press the call button 100 times the lift will come faster.

People at work, who deal with Euros EVERY SINGLE DAY, including my manager who approves bank transfers to Europe, apparently do not know that in Europe they use a decimal place where we would use a comma in numbers....HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?!
