Christmas presents ideas thread!

Hi all.

Dunno if this has been done before or if anyone is interested, but choosing Christmas presents for kids and other loved ones gets me stressed every single year. I've been to the shops tonight looking for presents for my 9 and 7 year old boys and come back empty handed.

So maybe those in the same boat would like to share ideas to help each other out!

So far I have got them one of those v shaped drift scooters each, and a batman dressing gown.

So if you want to contribute it can be ideas for anyone, kids, wives, girlfriends, nans, dads, moms, milf next door....

9 year old a new tablet.

7 year old just stuff, they love opening loads of stuff.

We got our daughter a nexus 2013 when she was 7 not very interested at first but is full on now at 10. She getting a new one for xmas, job done. :p

A good one for the missus and she will like it, when she out check her makeup and see what colours are used most.

Write them down and then search online for the same colours in a better make.
Illamasqua is a good one not to expensive but enough for them to see you buying quality. ;)

Do the above with the missus and its a boxing morning wind job for you! :D
 
People keep asking me what I want for xmas and I just dont know, I have everything. I dont mean that in a bigheaded way, but I have nice clothes, plenty of aftershaves, books, games, blu rays.

I am really stumped. A fleshlight would be handy, but I dont think it's the sort of thing you should ask your mum for.
 
Amazon kids kindle is good, also comes with free 2 year "they dropped it" insurance although only one year of kids unlimited - which is extremely good.

My daughter has had one since she was 5, she uses it for watching cartoons on a saturday morning in bed and likes many of the games on it.. all of which are suitable for kids.

My wife isn't one that's into anything in particular but likes being pampered, especially if I go along with her. So spa days etc are usually a winner!
 
I need something for my girlfriend. Last year I got her a Stella McCartney bag which set me back £580. I jokingly told her that it was worth two Christmases, but then she started throwing stuff at me :P

I've given her ring previously, and she got a Tiffany bracelet and necklace for her birthday in June, so I don't really want to get her anything like that. Perfume seems like a cop-out, and she has waaaaaay too many clothes and shoes.

I almost think it'd be best to just get loads of small things for once rather than try to 'wow' her with a singular expensive item, but then I'd be worried that she'd think I didn't put enough thought into the gifts. Argh..!
 
Good lord thats lot of money on a bag! I'll maybe get my Mrs a wireless sonos speaker this Xmas, but even £150 seems expensive! :p
 
Need to get my thinking cap on also got quite a few nieces and newphews they seem to have all the gadjets, top of the range also. Is it that time of year already, was last Christmas not just yesterday. Vouchers are probably a good choice if over about 8, otherwise some funky toys/gadjets bring a smile to the face.
 
Tend not to go overboard as then you feel the need to beat last years presents every year, women who want expensive bags can do one :p

Buying stuff for kids these days seems relatively easy, but if they're spoilt and already have everything then you're up poo creek.
 
Macbook pro and a DJI Mavic? Kids seem to be getting iphones when they are about 4 now a days so these don't seem unreasonable for a 7 and 9 year old.

I think when I was 9 I got a Raleigh Street Wolf
 
Poor me I know but I vaguely remember my Dad brining home a ZX81 in about 1984 and wow were we pleased. Also we had a very nice Kenwood mixer if I do say so myself.

Sounds like a good plan, but I would definitely not buy a different make! My fiancé selects her makeup very carefully as some react with her skin etc...best just to get new ones of what they've already got.

Assorted ferrero rocher
Brightly coloured socks (don't care if they went out of fashion in 2013)

You're nuts. I'd never spend £100 on a bag for my girlfriend, let alone that much. Not because of the money but she's so damn picky about what she likes and doesn't like. How on earth do I know what bag she wants? Likewise, if I want something like a rucksack I'd want to pick it myself, and I'd take my sweet time over it :p Imagine that for something she's going to carry every day. It's so likely to go wrong it's not even worth the effort! It's a bit like a girlfriend of someone on this forum going "Oh he likes computers, I'll buy him one". Can you imagine? ;)

As above, really. I'd rarely buy her makeup (in fact I don't think I ever have) as I know she's so particular. I think the closest I got was a Burt's Bees gift set as I know she likes their stuff. :p

Anyway, more importantly for me. I want an Anova Precision Cooker :D

Got the wife a Cineworld unlimited card last year, we're (bought one for myself as well) running the risk of over using them now.

This year is simple, I'll just renew them.

Thought about one myself but don't wanna be cleaning it :mad:

Mum will probably get kindle, tyre pressure gauge for glovebox, some LED bulbs for the kitchen and anything else that I think of will be added to list. Dad I will get a Ryobi Hedgecutter depending on how the reviews are for it, he already has a petrol but for the smaller hedges a light one will probably be good considering both sometimes cut the hedge.
