Ebay rules - buy on collection

yet there own website you can select settings that it doesn't offer paypal.
and you own page says

if you don't offer paypal you cannot proceed to the next page of listing your item

i have sold quite a few items stating cash only, then the buyer paying via paypal, i just refer them to the listing stating cash on collection and refund them asking them to pay when collected, never had an issue so far

not true. there are plenty of listings with out paypal.
more likely we are both right and it is category dependent.

you can also use classified ads these days which also has no payment method.

possibly category dependent then, everytime i have tried i cannot proceed and have to check paypal as payment

just tried,
"Please provide the correct information in the highlighted fields.
Additional payment methods - Please select at least one payment method that you will accept.
PayPal - To list this item, you need to accept PayPal as a payment method."

Then they'll have the right to report you as a Non Performing Seller and vote down your stars. Get less than 4.7 for a given time period and its bye bye seller account.

Then I'd poo through the buyers letterbox.

Not being scammed is more important than some stupid stars.
