My almost 8 year old C2D laptop is on it's last legs (screen issues) so I could do with a new one around the £300-400 mark (although may stretch that a bit for a good deal).

An Intel processor would be preferred in general and I'm not too worried about the disk as long as its a standard 2.5" one as I can pull the fairly new 250GB SSD out of the old laptop.
