Well I've currently got a Furygan textile which fits nice enough. I haven;t tried either on just yet, wont be buying until end of this month. My eyes are on the Furygan Akira (which does have the water repellent treatment) or the Dainese D1.

Also depends if Sportsbikeshop ever has my size in the Furygan one.

Silly reasoning aside, i think Furygan has a cooler name :p

:D I tried on everything, A*, RST, Dainese, some were comical - arms stopping 6 inches from my wrists or the bottom nearly up to my belly button!

I'm going to get a new jacket come next spring, a Furygan Raptor - currently wearing a medium but will go up in size to a L as my current jacket is a little cosy!

Oh I'll try lots on, need to take a trip to my local fowlers as they have so much in stock there as well as rip off prices :)

Thats another point. What shops do you guys use? I find I only look at SBS but there must be better alternatives out there?

SBS or I recently used Motoblouz who were just as good as SBS including free returns but cheaper and it took 48 hours for delivery as they're in France rather than next day.

Helmet city is close to me and has a huuuuge stock of furygan stuff and helmets - I do use my local shops too, I'm lucky to have a coulpe of decent shops near me.

With Furygan you also get to have a panther on your back :p :D

Me neither but it's a Friday morning so anything that distracts me from doing actual work like trawling the Dainese website is welcomed :D

Does anyone use a full on back protector, i.e. the separate ones you put on under your jacket?

Next jacket I'll deffo upgrade to a level 2 D30 protector but wondering how comfortable the full on back protectors are?

Never used a full/separate. Always integrated into my jacket as a slide in part. I think for commuting/fun riding having to mess around with a full on separate all the time would get tiresome. Sort of thing I see reserved for track/event/extreme riding activity.

I know Fireskull does.

I've considered it but like Sin_Chase says it's another thing to have mess about with daily and I'd just end up not bothering so stick to the ones in my jackets.

I have the full size Dainese Manis D1 that I use with the Laguna Seca suit and with everything the correct size it is all perfectly comfortable. Mainly use it on track but have been out for a few road rides and it is still fine for less aggressive riding positions.

Like everything it always comes down to getting the right size and fit, last thing you want is anything to distract you gear wise when riding.

Good thing about the Manis protector is it comes in different lengths and chest/waist sizes so at 6'3 I can get total back coverage without having to have some XXXL one.

Both my jackets have all the inserts in though, far more convenient for everyday use!

All of my motorcycle club wear separate protectors when we do our multi day tours. I don't though as all my jackets have full integrated ones.

I don't have a separate but I certainly upgraded the orange foam one that came with my Furygan jacket with something significantly more rigid and substantial.

I'm happy with the protector in my jacket, but have considered getting a neck brace.

Something like a Leatt - STX Road Neck Brace.

Looking into them, they appear to really reduce neck / spinal injuries during a crash.
