Is it me or those wheels different to the standard M3 wheels? They seem more recessed than usual.

They're the stock 18s rather than the flatter faced chrome 19s.

I used to prefer the 19s but now I'm older I think I'm more into the 18s.

You did - it's got some hideous pink badges / other details of some sort too and is driven by.... a really rather normal and quiet (i.e non gobby) looking lady

I still prefer the 19s, they fill the arches better, and look more elegant. They do scratch and wear worse than the 18s due to the diamondcut, though. That's pretty much the only downside.
