Comedians with straight faces

No one has mentioned Stewart Lee?!

When I've seen him, some of his material is delivered in a way the laughter starts to trickle in as people start to figure out the joke or where it's heading where it gets to the point that he doesn't even need a punchline - the audience just does it for him while he stands there with his faux outrage.

That entire 'cats feet towel' routine.

My favourite type of comedy is spoof documentary style, which almost by default more or less has to be dead pan. So things like The Day Today or anything Armando Iannucci/Chris Morris has done, Christopher Guest, Stephen Fry in This is David Lander, Harry Enfield in Mr Cholmondley Warner skits and the afore mentioned Diane Morgan in Wipe.

Also must back up anyone who has mentioned Sean Lock, in his sitcom 15 Storeys High he is easily on a par with Larry David.

Milton Jones. 100%.

Saw him a few months back, while funny I didn't find him the best on the night.

Shaun Lock from 8 out of 10 cats is deadpan and monotone but hilarious ;)

Also saw Sean Lock a while back on his last tour. Hilarious guy but I'm not sure I'd call him deadpan.

Stewart Francis is one of my favourites. His 1 liners are fantastic.

Oh yes! I love that style. The Office (The UK, not the rip off) and the David Brent camera glances can cause me to crease up in fits of laughter quite often.

"On 'weaknesses' you've wrote eczema?"

"Yeah. On my feet"

How anyone can not laugh at The Office is beyond me

to me if you don't at least smile a bit after telling a joke its like you yourself don't think its funny...you shouldn't laugh at your own jokes but you should smile a little bit.

Many here won't know Foster Brooks. Absolutely brilliant and straight faced. He made a career out of a drunk act but he never drank a drop.
