is windows 10 worth £100?

Lol, just do what you want,
There are legitimate businesses selling it at very reasonable prices, some are registered and have sold lots of licences .

No one on here can know if they are legitimate or not.
I'm pretty sure that if one managed to find a retailer with many reviews and many products on sale that Microsoft could find them as well and shut them down.

But make your own mind up if you don't care about spending £100

thanks , that's quite a handy bit of advice, I originally upgraded using the free upgrade program, but when I reinstalled it failed the activation so had to reload windows 8.1 again! and upgrade thru that,,
and after the general free upgrade finished, didn't dare try another install

but will give it a go now, and if all fails, will go the route you suggested,

problem with the upgrade programs is you don't get a license key, so its not as simple as just reinstalling windows 10

Try linking the Windows 10 license to your Microsoft account then reactivating becomes a doddle even after major hardware changes.

how easy is it to do that ?,

I do have a Microsoft account, but think when I tried to log on when I initially had problems it didn't like my logons, however that wouldn't of helped as hadn't linked the license !

i bought an oem copy of windows but know im going to replace my motherboard in the not so distant future so this is hand to know.
