Kids Bullied

A quick sharp shock usually sorts the bullies. ;)

I had loads of people trying to bully me, I was an obnoxious and a little irritating kid to be honest.

A few got away with it as I was dealing with the other bullies! Put it this way no one picked a fight with me from say 3rd year seniors, the first 3 years were awful though. :(
I got suspended twice, so much detention for telling teachers and class mates to go f'em themselves. It was funny thinking back. :D

But I did not bounce around as a hard knock, I left them so called hard knock retards to it.

I am a very placid person and never liked fighting, I took some serious jabs and beatings but in the end I got a little peeved and well lets just say, it never happened again. ;)

Honestly I've been through that when I was younger and I wish my dad had just got me some weights and taught me to throw a decent punch, I would have used it at least three times for a very good reason.

Your son has a good heart. You don't fight violence with violence, talk to his teacher. Have you made any attempt? Strange OCUK is your port of call for advice on the subject.

Sure after I got punch taking a **** (One of the times I'd of hit) the school still did nothing and made it worse for me! Sometimes someone getting hit back gives the message that they have no power over you.

This again!!

I wish my dad had taught me better! nothing wrong with knowing how to defend yourself!

More people here are parents than own dedicated graphics cards. It's a perfectly valid place to ask a question like this.

My husband said our daughter came out of school today crying because a boy in her class had hit her on the arm after he tried to break something of hers and the teacher had believed him over her when she told the teacher what was happening. So we've told her in the future if anyone hits her she has our permission to hit them back - She knows how to throw a punch too as she does martial arts.

Could martial arts be something you could look into for your son? Maybe give him the confidence not to be so quiet.

I'll also say my daughter is one of the smallest in her year group too.

Please tell me a place where I can get advice 100% applicable to any individual situation on any subject, I'll make a fortune. :D

Well, for one punching the bully can go two ways, it can either escalate into a full-blown fight, or make him back down. That usually ends in both of them getting suspended, or the 'instigator' in this case being the OP's child, which will impact his education while that gets resolved.

I'll also give my perspective, I did the same, punched the bully and he backed off.. until the next day when going home, him and his mates jumped me and gave me quite a beating. No proof and no witnesses. No serious injuries except reinforcing the fact that fights prove nothing/physical violence in general.

I think standing up to someone is important. Even if it ends up in a whooping. As long as it is only a fist fight it's fine.

You say that but I had a fight with someone who was bullying me at school after school and the Police were called. I was nearly arrested for assault.

Judging by your username, I take it you were born in 1979. Meaning you were in school during the 80s and 90s. The climate has vastly changed, fights get cracked down hard in schools now.

yeah I was but I will still tell my kids to stand their ground. I have worked in schools for a few years so know what it's like and I still stand by that..
