North / South divide - your view

Maybe you should learn to articulate yourself better, although I don't remember replying to you previously anyway.

See above from RoboCod....

And being chippy with me is wasted effort sunshine. :)

Go look in the Audi thread in Motors....to your point.

I've you've got a few bob in the south, you'll live in a broom cupboard chocked by car fumes and made miserable by stressful tube journeys and horrible attitudes.

If you've got a few bob in the north, you'll live in a 5 bedroom detached with fresh air from the greenery behind your house and drive to work in your own private transport.

:p

This man knows the score.

Going up High dam tomorrow. Enjoy your superiority whilst shopping.

Northerners - Go on about how much better it is, friendly etc etc crap ...
Southerners - Get on with life dont care about it because they are already better off

Anyway i think im most Northern person on the entire forum last time i checked so....

I read the last part of this in a Northern accent. I think your approve as it was quite good

Been to the bad bits in Essex then? Southend, Basildon, Tilbury, Grays yeah I'd tend to agree with you. But there are small pockets of niceness down here you know. ;)

I live in between these in a nice quiet little town of Essex, there is nice and quiet parts with friendly locals, just got to know where to look :D

Those towns are like Mayfair and Chelsea compared to Jaywick. :o

Essex has plenty of nices places to live either (rural or urban) but generally I have to admit were not the most politically correct county in the country. If you from Scotland or Liverpool and working and living down here you can certainly expect to have people poking fun at your accent but otherwise were pretty friendly.

Northern people are more laid back. ;)

Southern people are just on one! I don't have a clue what they on one for but, hey ho each to there own. :)

Southern people are also very loud when in conversation, northern people are quiet.

But as they say "Its the quiet ones you need to watch"! :D

Just wondering what your view is this is?

My GF is from the north. I am not.

I've seen differences myself. Things like transport being far less developed and invested.

Any actual things you've found? Is there a divide or is it a myth

Southerners don't have chips and gravy... End of discussion, they lose.

For years I worked with two blokes from Dudley and every time I got chips & gravy from the canteen they would make puking noises. Just before the factory closed down I made them have one each and they went straight down the canteen and bought their own. I'd been telling them for years it was just like potatoes and gravy.
