I'm so glad the only diesels I drive are work vehicles :o

Yes because turning the key twice to warm up the glow plugs is such a hardship. ;)

I don't like driving a diesel, but that is hardly on the list of problems with them is it. :p

Girlfriend has gone away for the weekend and mates are busy, so I've played a great many different games, watched football and I've possibly just eaten half of the world's supply of chicken wings - the Meat Liquor buffalo wings recipe doesn't change much but the changes are really noticeable. And Sainsburys are stocking cans of Brooklyn American Ale.

Now sat in the awesome loca independent cinema aboit to watch Arrival. Gym, more football and gaming tomorrow. A very good weekend to myself. Was l disappointed I couldn't go up to the Lake District at short notice - the hotel I wanted to stay in was full on 1 of 4 nights I wanted to go away - but I think I've made a fine go of things at home :D

My Onkyo amp broke, so my friend has lent me his Linn Amp. Wow! What a difference in sound! Let's hope he doesn't want it back soon...

Soooooo.... See what next week brings!? Last week was poor IMO as 2 failed work jobs, although I got paid unexpectedly from another job... And I got invited to interview for university so that's a big plus point. Although all of this makes me nervous as hell. I'm tempted to go for my class 1 HGV licence as class 2 is so far proving pointless to have....

So after my projector making a 5000 mile trip to Egypt and back and then to Portugal I finally unbox it today. I tried to fit it to the wall to discover I have to buy a mount for the ceiling. Ok so I'll leave it.

Then I come up with the genius idea of plopping it on a small table to projector it on the screen to watch Planet Earth II. It then slips off the table onto be sofa and poof...now white line being displayed :(

After going through a mixture of feelings, including being extremely annoyed at myself for not just waiting I have contacted the Optoma service centre in Portugal and explained about the vertical lines. It's just over two years old and if I read their website correctly it should have a 3 year warranty.

Fingers crossed...if not I'll be claiming against shippig insurance...:o

That's fraud mate!

I like it though! :D

That's exactly what most people would do. I know I'd do it.
I paid extra for insurance and right now I really cannot shell out £500 for a new projector.

Well, I can. But everyone else would do it. Plus if I told the missus we need to buy a new one I'd be googling an emergency sewing kit :p

She tried to be positive about it. Saying itll get sorted etc...this was after I stopped swearing...besides how do I know that the final journey isn't what made it so fragile?

Genesis Cinema? They won best Cinema at the Screen Awards recently. Love that place. Studio 5 is ace with the sofas and bar in the corner.

Did they really? The definitely deserve it. When we moved in round the corner six years ago the cinema was a bit run down - poor seating, little in the way of air conditioning, etc. But they've made a really good go of it over the past few years. Screen 1 is awesome, massive, and Screen 5 is a real winner.

Going in to see Arrival tonight and there were ~50 people sat in their bar area watching a free screening of Drive - not many cinemas would put stuff like that on for nothing.
