Dunno what RB were thinking going to inters so early. They must have been gambling on the old "different tyre strategy" but they've got weather reports/spotters/radar, they must have known a gamble like that could throw the race away, especially in the face of incoming rain. It shows desperation when they are just throwing the dice on hoping the rain stops to match their tyre choice.
