McGregror reminds me of Anderson Silva in his prime...

Just sharp as heck, confident and collected.

I really expected Alvarez to do better and have more of a fight. The thing I noticed is Alvarez looked similar to Aldo. Both looked really nervous and jumpy and Conor just looked calm as hell.

Nate Diaz gave him a run because Nate is just insane and didn't give a ****. But everyone else looked like they lost mentally before the fight even began.

I want to see Aldo rematch or Khabib fight him now.

Connor will want nothing of khabib

Yeah I don't see it happening if i'm honest, he's managed to get to where he is now he's going to milk it as long as he can. Because the only way for him now is down. So why would he? hell get a stake in the UFC then retire?

Who knows, but I wouldn't blame him.

Round of the night rnd 4 Woodley v Thompson how the hell he survived that punishment is beyond any man.. then you see Mcgregor tapping out to Nate instantly just shows.

Conor however was superb again so calm and his striking is the best in the business Alvarez looked out of his depth and seconds behind just getting picked apart. Conor v Khabib is submission suicide, i'd take an Aldo rematch if i was him.

Knew Alvarez was going to be too wild and Conor would pick him apart, called it earlier in the thread but didn't think he'd dominate him like that, dropped him 5 times in what, 7 minutes? Awesome display. Doubt he will be too interested in Khabib thought that guy is a monster.

I don't see how that 4th round in the Wonderboy fight was a 10-8, sure he got hurt badly but he ended the round on top for the last minute it was hardly domination. Still, a majority draw isn't too bad of a result. Unless the judges are going 10-8 for the first perhaps? I thought it was 48-47 to Thompson.

Other than that incredible knee from the juicer Romero, don't fancy Bispings chances in that one unless he can get it into the championship rounds.

All in all, great event.

To the guys saying DC, GSP, Khabib are boring etc.... can't agree, those guys are always active on top, doing damage or looking to improve position. If you want to watch someone boring go back to the likes of Grey Maynard or the godfather of lay and pray, Jake Shields.

Bisping will just have to seriously out work him, i think Romero will find it difficult to land against Bisping his movement and work rate is phenomenal and after seeing what he can take of Hendo could be difficult to put away. If he gets on top of Bisping however its over the guys a monster and juiced up to his eye balls.

Conor has to be considered in the GOAT discussions nowadays, first two time world champion, destroyed the 145 division. He's also the greatest on the mic :p

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to absolutely nobody!

I'd like to see him defend both belts. It seems crazy how long he's gone fighting at 145... you could say he's proved himself by getting the belt but defending it would be something else. Throw in another belt and he's in a bind. Constantly making / flip-flopping between divisions will get tiresome and/or difficult. As you say, the only way he can go is down... now he has double the trouble to worry about.

Personally, I think he'll relinquish one before mid 2017.

Absolute joke censoring the post fight interview. I just saw a crazy back and forth fight with Woodley/Thompson, almost witnessed Weidmans death but OH NO GOD FORBID YOU HEAR THE FUDGE WORD.

Conor's left is a serious weapon. Dropping Alvarez repeatedly was something to behold. Great win for him.

Khabib getting clipped makes the Conor fight so much more interesting. Seems like an awesome striker vs grappler matchup one which both fighters could conceivably win.

Khabib is part bear though and once he has a hold of you it's not going to be fun.

Woodley vs Thomson rematch is the right call (for once) I'm looking forward to it but I think Maia will strangle either of them when/if he gets his shot.

I thought for a second Romero had killed Weidman.....that knee was savage and the ref did not stop it anywhere near quick enough imo.

Not until he defends the way Silva and GSP did.

Silva had 10 and GSP had 9.

He is well on his way to being a GOAT for sure, I do feel the weight thing is overhyped regarding him though, he looked way bigger than Alvarez if I had no idea about either of them I'd have said Alvarez was fighting up a weight class.

It's his long arms that make him such a big problem, well the long arms and the timing. An it's why Nate gave him a much tougher fight than most as he didn't have that reach advantage.

I really want to see him either fight Khabib, rematch Aldo or I'd be happy with an El Cucuy fight.

Khabib has the grappling to make it interesting.

Aldo I really think would have a better showing the 2nd time round, he may well lose again but I think on his best day he can give Mcgregor real problems.

An Tony has the same if not longer reach(?) he has a hell of a chin, good power and unorthodox striking.

I still don't like Mcgregor for his attitude and the way he carries himself, I much preferred the likes of GSP and Silva, but I can't argue at his talent as a fighter.

I don't know who does the height measuring for the fighters but it had Eddie and Conor both at 5ft 9 when Conor was clearly taller.

Silva is a juicer, so automatically isn't considered in any greatest comparisons imo. GSP, totally agree.

When he was in his prime everyone was juicing.

Some of his wins and confirmed juicers or trters, Leben, Marquardt, Henderson, Sonnen, Belfort, Bonnar and Griffin.

Were the others on something, who knows. Chances are they were and just didn't get caught, there are always exceptions no doubt, but during Silvas time I've no doubt 95% of people were on something.

His amazing Matrix esque striking and fight IQ didn't come from a syringe I know that much. He was amazing to watch just waiting for him to suddenly turn it on and go for the kill.
