We had our fire drill. I can confirm all members of IT made it there and back safely.

The whole department even went for a quick coffee and snack from the bakery :D

Hold up, I've been following your journey in the career thread, have you got a job? If so, congrats buddy! Great news. Or I've missed something entirely.

I already have a job, I am looking for a new one :)

Today there was a fire drill and I was given the responsibility of getting and I quote "the whole IT department to the meeting point"

I am the only in from IT today! :D

I knew I'd missed something!

Well done on completing that daunting task, make sure they know how organised you were.

Today I drove a class 2 lorry for first time since passing my test.

First time in a manual lorry and first time driving one at night. I passed. :)

Even if I don't get the job I passed and it counts for future jobs so i'll get a copy if poss to add to my CV. :)

Looks like I just got caught speeding...

FFS I never speed anymore but really needed a pee (like foot stamping need a pee) Morrisons was off the next round about, I floored it and as I started slowing down I spotted a speed camera van.. Dual carriage way with solid central reservation, I think I was doing mid 50's... Arrghh.

Worst thing was I did it in the works van so not only do I risk a ban but also might **** up my job...

Why do I screw up at everything

Some people are so thick it's unreal. At 13:30 today I got a call from one of our architects in London;

"We could really use your attendance at a meeting"

"OK, when is it and i'll see if I'm free"

"15:30"

"That's going to be an issue..."

"Ah why, are you not near any tube stations?"

"No, I'm not..."

"Could you not get a taxi?"

"I could...but it would cost about £500.00 and I wouldn't get there until about 20:00"

"..."

"Not everyone is based in London"

"Ah, yes..."

Eejit.

Looks like I'm going to be raising another formal complaint against my Royal Mail delivery depot ...

What did they do? Management went out on the **** yesterday and haven't made an appearance today, all too hungover. I've had no motivation at all to do any work and as there has been nobody in, I've not done much. :p

Did you get there safely?
If you did remember, an example of team organisation, was your mustering of the entire It dept and managed to ensure everyone safely made it to the meeting point.
Good skillset!
HR++

It's going on my CV as a successful project as far as I am concerned.

"safely and successfully managed and organised the ENTIRE (present) IT dept for the fire drill evacuation. All staff were accounted for and were on time and present.

Also treated the entire department to a coffee at a local cafe"

Pahahahaha. Well I'm at the office alone because I was awaiting a call meant to be made by 5 and it didn't but no point sitting in traffic :o

Complete failure to redeliver again ... no attempt ... for two packages this time (one of which had already had no attempt to redeliver as requested on Tuesday).

After talking to Customer Services it looks that it is partially due to a IT screw up as the payment system said I'd paid the Customs charge on Wednesday for the second package but it hadn't been released as such at the depot.

That sucks though I often used to do the same.

Think some of my southern colleagues may need to be reminded that life exists outside of the capital.

Just drove home from one of our customer sites, only 15 miles but went through 37 different sets of traffic lights.

No oncall tonight either so I can relax and have a drink.
