Xbox One Elite Controller worth it?

They are overpriced but if you have the money then the paddles and overall feel make it worth it.

One downside, there is a known fault in the thumbsticks that means over time they develop a drift problem (i.e. the stick acts like it is being pushed when it isn't). I've just had to send mine back for a replacement, MS didn't argue but it shouldn't happen when you pay such a premium.

From what I have read since, it seems the quality improvements are largely external, if you open it up then it's not actually better built than the regular pad.

Agree it's not worth the RRP. I bought it for £105 which I'm happy with. I would have paid more in all honesty since a good quality controller is really important if you're serious about creating the best possible gaming experience.

Absolutely love this controller. Quality is simply beyond anything else that's available on the market.

Hows your shoulder buttons? RB and LB? Do they click the same or do they feel different? How tight are they? My RB barely has to be clicked to register. Feels great - wish my LB was like this.

Mine are like a more solid version of the standard control. Should be as light to push but give a nice click when they do.

I'm actually getting a replacement because I'm unhappy with how differently they click from one another. My RB is really nice and tight. My LB is really loose.

Before the XB1 S launched, I might have said yes. But the new XB1 S pad has a few improvements that the Elite doesn't have, which kinda puts the Elite to shame considering the large cost. It's like a 980ti compared to the Elitepad Titan X. If there's a new version with all the XB1 S controller improvements, then that could be the one to buy.

...As long as it doesn't need replacing batteries. That stuff was a real pain back with the Wii and XB360 last gen. A cable to charge it would be just fine.

I was thinking about getting an xbox elite controller but I'm wondering if they'll refresh it given the improvements added to the new regular controller like bluetooth/etc. It would suck spending that kind of money only to find they update it in the near future with a new model!

For me it's the opposite as I think the pad that comes with the XB1s is terrible. On pure build quality it feels so cheap, a budget pad that you would expect to have a £9.99 price tag not an official item. Where the Elite controller has a nice soft, grippy texture on the back the S pad has just a texture moulded into the plastic which feels terrible. Also I didn't like the less rounded feel.

If the bundled S pad is anything to go by I'd say get the Elite before they ruin it.

I like it but don’t use the paddles as I hit them accidently, think I would go for an Xbox One S controller now.

Yeah. The only good thing about this pad is the diamond grip. The Lunar White X1 pad has it(to name one), and it's brilliant. The pad looks cool if you're into that thing too.

Mine is arriving tomorrow. I'll give an update after I've used it for a bit. The things I'm worried about is the weight and the paddles getting in the way of my natural grip. Will see how things are.

Compared the original Xbox one controller, the elite is miles better. I bought one last yr and absolutely love it. The weight is spot on, I can't go back to the original controller as it just feels like a toy and not as solid as the elite.

The paddles at first annoyed me but now I can't be without them altho I only use 2 out of the 4.

I wish I never sold mine. For games like Halo I think they're almost essential for competitive play. I've since bought a Scuf Infinity1 I found cheap locally and it pales in comparison.

I agree the 'S' pad feels cheap, the Elite is a great pad even without the paddles and the way you can adjust the triggers are great for shooters

I considered the S Pad but I wanted a black controller and I don't care for Bluetooth since I have a wireless adapter which works perfectly. The Elite is better in every other way from what I've seen online.

Looking to pick one of these or the new s controller up for my pc, are owners still happy with their elite?

I've read a fair few complaints of controllers developing faults after a few months of use.

Just got mine. Pretty happy with it but only got it as I had spare credit at the store.
I'm not sure it is worth £120.

Mine's still perfect. It's so good that I've stopped buying multi platform games on the PS4 as the better controller far outweighs the graphics difference.
