You said you want something with more power, then you said you'll get a street triple and then... I'm getting confused.

Any pics of the bike?

I decided against it, i don't need a 1000cc bike for weekend fun, I don't commute on a bike as I live less than 2 miles from work.

Only 2 pictures, I'll upload them in a bit.

You need to move house before you get your next bike. The property is holding you back :D

I'm in the process of sorting out my first house, one with either a garage or a drive with access down the side of the house, no more faffing about riding up the path, along to my garden and then through 3 gates :p

It wasn't practical, seat height was too high (870mm), bars were too wide (35") and was just a pain getting it into my garden everyday and i got fed up with it pretty quickly, would have been great if i had a garage. :)

I did exactly this 3 months back :p

I feel your pain of having to do austin powers 99 point turns through a garden gate, fortunately no more for me!

What made you go for the 7 over the 9?

I tried both and didn't get on with the engine characteristics of the 09. Chassis wise the 09 was a little nicer but the bike brought the daemon out in me! Same with the street triple r, I just couldn't ride them at reasonable speeds and enjoy the engine where as the 07 and my current bike, r1200r, are both lovely to ride at any speed.

What's the point going through the hassle of buying a bike to change the bars just to get it in my garden? When I can buy a bike that needs no modding?

If you think that changing the handlebars is a hassle compared to researching and buying bikes limited by the handlebar length than...

Its not hard to do yourself, I had to re-route some wires as I was fitting wider handlebars. But considering he'll be fitting shorter bars it'll be easier.
