There is no way Xbox and PS4 look much better unless your previous TV was 720P or less or a crap panel.

It will be looking better purely because he has a better quality screen, nothing to do with the HDR.

ive just upgraded this weekedn from a 50" 1080p plasma to a 55" uhd 4k led screen and the difference on the standard PS4 play battlefield 1 is really good. Ive never really sat in front of a tv and said spending the money was worth it. But 4k is definitely worth it i would say especially when watching native 4k films

PS4 can't output native 4K. For 4K to be worthwhile you really need projector size screen.

It's only good if you go close like you would a PC monitor. Step back and you won't see anything better than Bluray not unless you have eagle eyes.

55" at a few ft away you can notice bad pixels

amazon 4k is what i use for native 4k or at close too.

4k and hdr honestly looks far better than 1080p in my eyes. I was suspicious at first, hence ive kept my plasma for over 9 years as the picture always seemed to be better.

gone from an LG panel to a Phillps 6400 series. (thumbs up for ambilight system )

How do you know he will have a better quality screen? Do you know what panel he has now? and which he is going to buy in the future?
