Game CPU temp peak against full stress test temps?

Hey guys,

I previously made a thread asking about the integrity of MSI afterburner, but after advise here and monitoring all seems good and accurate..

My question now is, with day-to-day tasks and CS : GO playing, my temps are around peak of :

GPU : 45c
CPU : 65c

Now I understand these temps are "OK" but what I want to know, is if I was to do a CPU/GPU stress test, what the likely temps are going to be? Is it possible they will heat up enough to compromise the PC stability, or if im getting temps above gaming and multitasking, will they be acceptable? or if im only using it for CS and general tasks, is there even any point worrying about it?

cheers guys, RTJ

Depends on what hardware your running,CS:GO is generally heavy on the cpu, and pretty light on the GPU

If you stressed both the cpu/gpu to 100% over prolonged time your probily looking at 70ishc on the cpu and somewhere between 60-70c on the gpu.

Cant imagine your going to run into temperature related problems tbh

Perfect! Just wanted some clarification, cheers dude!

Hey guys,

Bad news..I have just finished stress testing on Prime95 and the temps went up to 89c after about 30 seconds and i stopped the testing manually.

What do I do? Do I stick with the case as the temps are fine for Skype, spotify, CSG GO, email and safari, or go back to a midi tower...?

Prime 95 uses AVX and really that pushes temps up, more so on Intel CPUs from the past couple of years.

As long as the temps are fine for you what you actually do day to day then I wouldn't be worried. Just keep an eye on them and as long as you're under say 70 when gaming then I doubt you'll have any issues at all.

Try other testing programs, I hate Prime it's just so ******* abusive and the results are never "real world" as they are temps you will never see in real use.

My brain has gone completely blank and I'm not sat in front of my gaming rig at the moment, what's the name of the ASUS tool I normal use .. ? LoL :)

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the comments and input, I have gone with a change in case and cooler..it will also allow me to expand the GPU to a "full sized" one in the future due to the new case dimensions...
