Made a stupid mistake

I had a spelling mistake on my boarding pass /on line booking when I went to Cyprus in the summer (easyJet) nothing was said /noticed and I didn't even spot it until I'd got back!

I dare say I'd have been a bit worried about it had I known prior to traveling but in the event, no problem.

Alas though OP Sod's law will undoubtedly come into play with this....

Get on the Social Media pages for the flight companies involved, its surprising how quickly they like to respond when a simple request is being nonsensically refused behind closed doors gets aired in public.

I once travelled to the US and the airline had an error with my name - when I went through immigration I didn't come up on the advance passsenger system, so I got pulled to one side and questioned - it was all fine though, they did their checks, corrected it and sent me on my way

If I were you I'd just go and play dumb - provided your actual travel documents are correct it shouldn't be a problem - I also assume you've filled out the ESTA because that, and your passport will be what the US side will be most interested in

This. Playing it dumb should do the trick - get your game face ready.

As other have said, play dumb. Rock up a wee bit early and check in ASAP so if they do raise it you've got time to sort. Very much doubt anything will come of it.
Do they even match passports and tickets up beyond a visual check you're the same person?

Had this a few years back when a friend booked cruise. My wife's name was spelt incorrectly (to be fair it was submitted fine) and Thompson refused to admit it was their fault. We had to pay £300 each for the name change (6 of us going). Seriously.

Just an excuse for some to charge stupid money.

This - plain and simple.

If they charged £300 to tweek a name on a ticket and one of their customer service reps is on £8ph, what they're saying is that 37.5 hours to change this, or the equivalent of a whole working week. Even if they are saying that they "fined" you £100 for this, they're still saying that it took 23.5 hours for them to change 6 names on a computer.

What actually happened is that it took them 15 minutes to do it, or approximately £2 staff wages, and they pocketed the other £298.

Just thought I'd post an update - left for Vegas last monday - flew Dublin-London and then London-Vegas - not an issue anywhere - got through all checks without a problem - not sure it was even noticed, same on the way home. For anyone who was curious on how it worked out.

I made in from Heathrow-Schiphol-Guangzhou-Taipei and back with a middle name on my tickets and no middle name on my passport... A few questions were asked in Guangzhou on the way back in as I had a 72hr visa there but no real issues... Chance it I say

Good effort :D

There is the phenomena where people can read completely mis spelled sentences provided the first and last letters of the words are correct. No one likely even noticed the missing letter.
