MRI Scan

But Dampcat got his immediately after getting out of the machine
all i can say is, no one should be told straight away, its not ethical for a non medic to do so and a medic should say something like "on first glance it looks bla, bla, but i need to fully review" btw i have worked in both private and nhs scanners for short time periods and i have never seen it done as he reports. but anything is possible-it just shouldn't be done that way. if a proper review of the slices isnt done first a small pathology could be missed

I agree with you and a sure fire way of getting a Clin Neg claim on my desk

Well I had my MRI scan this morning and like others have said it wasn't a big deal. It was very loud though even with ear plugs in. I wasn't offered any music or radio so basically I just lay there, eyes shut, trying not to move. Must have taken about 20 minutes and was told results take between 10 and 14 days. Thankfully I didn't need any contrast die.

14 days? I got mine there and then on a dvd and saw the specialist 12 hours later.

That it seems excessively high I guess. I didn't think it was that unclear.

It's not unclear except for the fact that different NHS MRI centers have different wait times for results. I happen to be in an area that can take up to 2 weeks for my MRI results to come through. So what?

Glad it went OK for you.
I have to have an MRI (full brain and spine) every 5 years to track the progression of my MS. It takes absolutely ages and they have to strap my head in to a sort of cage so I can't move it. I hate it.

Hate that cage, but at least some places fit a mirror to the cage so you can see your feet.

You do like to be an argumentative bugger don't you.

You posted on a public forum, instead of being an ass about it don't post if you don't like people posting related things.

To preempt your imaginative next 'so what', lets say its a shame that the NHS take so long about these things sometimes.

Whatever. You're the one making an argument. I started this thread for info about the procedure and I got that info but I also got the usual GD BS which to be fair, I was expecting. Have some roll eyes.
