65 inch KS8000/LG B6

Nope, all FALD LCD TVs produce halos which OLED doesn't do

Well my tv isn't a LCD and I have yet to see any halo'ing on my screen.

I said it's on par, not better or not worse. From what I saw there wasn't much difference in the blacks in both screens.

If an OLED screen isn't set up right then it can crush the blacks and lose detail, mine was like this at one point, but after calibration it looks amazing. The only downside is with a bad source it will look rough, Sky is awful and looks all blocky in dark areas, but blu-rays look incredible.

You are probably right but spending a few hundred on someone to come in and calibrate it is something I can't afford at the moment.

I was torn between the LG and Panasonic sets, in the end I went with Panasonic and am more than happy with it. So far everything I've thrown at it looks immense to me ie blue rays, sky hd and uhd as well.

Your tv is an LCD mate, it may have led backlighting but it's still an LCD

By all means take a look at that panasonic. It is definitely LCD. it is definitely not going to have blacks 'on par with OLED' and it is definitely not going to have the viewing angles of an OLED.

It won't be a bad TV, far from it, and might be what you're looking for. Personally I think you'd be mad not to go for the OLED at that price though. Ignore the lack of detail in blacks suggestion without calibration, it's simply not true even in standard ISF presets. Also an LCD panel will produce haloing even with localised dimming.

I want to thank all of you for your posts. It has helped me a lot. So I went into Richer sounds again. I am still no closer to picking one. I have reservations on both type. I am coming from years of using a Plasma (only pannies) so the appeal of great blacks of the LG grabs me however, considering at least 50% of the TV usuage will be games playing and even though LG say they will fix the input lag have they actually done it? ANd if so to what degree.

I don't want to be stuck when I find if they either a)don't fix it or they b)do fix it but it still an issue. Same goes for the Sammy I dont want to pay 2k and feel left wanting for the LG even though gaming is pretty much taken care of. I don't watch TV just movies.

If you are willing to go to 2k for a sammy led then going for an oled at the price point is worth considering. I get the general consensus that people think 2k for a sammy led is too much and 3k for an oled is too much as well.

But like I said thanks for all the input and it is greatly appreciated.

If you are going to be playing any games on it, don't get the LG OLED as it's input lag is way to high to be acceptable. This may be fixed in the future but right now the Sammy KS has the lowest input lag. If you don't mind the higher cost and don't care about gaming then the LG produces the superior image.

Ironically (considering what I said earlier) I bought an LG 65 B6V earlier as I realised I get 10% staff discount from Co-op electrical and it stacked with a £60 off code

£2459.09 and it's also tracked on Quidco for another £54....but they might not honour that.

It wasn't in stock but I should get it before Christmas.

Hoping for the input lag firmware update ASAP now :D

Well in game mode (SDR) I think the OLEDs aren't too bad at around 30ms. I've certainly never noticed any lag, though I don't even notice it in HDR mode either when playing Forza or Gears of War. I'm not some kind of pro gamer though so I completely appreciate other people would notice....it just never bothered me.

This is worth noting though:

They can't really go back on that.
