Why are these so popular now?

They look tragically lame, and immature.

Im struggling to find nice quality shirts because of this silly "fashion"

I guess its like the skinny ties thing, another lame-o trend everywhere. When will cutaway collar shirts die?

Wow, they look pretty horrible. I thought you meant collarless shirts at first.

Something for the current generation of JULFs.

Work attire I am fine with in most shops (Next, Burtons etc) for shirts etc

Casual wear these days though I cant stand mainstream shops. Apart from Jeans, I hardly ever follow the trend of your modern day metro and like to buy my self some decent t-shirts online

I have seen some horrid work shirts with some weird collars though

I literally don't know what you mean!

They're designed to accommodate a large tie knot, because kids these days don't know how to tie a tie properly.

But 99 times out of 100 they are worn with a "skinny" tie (they look awful also), and they won't know how to tie a double windsor, so you end up with a skinny tie, and awful small non-symmetrical knot, all inside the widest collar known to man.

Great.

I'm crying inside just at the thought of that :(

It's like the fashion for buttoning a shirt up fully without wearing a tie - either loosen the top button or put a tie on :D

we will soon be overrun with them i bet. Same as the skinny jeans utter farce lol. How any manchild thinks they look ok in them just boggles my mind haha. :p

Not what i was initially thinking, i was thinking those shirts that have a tiny collar on them, to me they are the calling card of someone who uses the word "bants" in conjunction with "mad" as a descriptive term, and should generally be treated as someone you probably shouldnt go drinking, or associate with.

But seeing those depresses me, is a windsor knot seriously that hard to learn?

Never seen one of these before, nor anyone wearing one.
I thought at first they were the short collars you see on wedding shirts, but they just seem to go hortizonally across. Weird.
