The missus has informed me we are getting a cat, Im not going to pretend like I have a say in these important decisions, so I'll need to change the PIRs! Is there any in particular that are worth getting that are pet friendly?
?

We got a Bosch pet friendly sensor for our two cats, having tried others in the past. For us they have been a waste of time. We never get the alarm being triggered until we decided to install a pet friendly one. Maybe you might have better luck, but I do tend to think that they might be better suited for dogs than cats, regardless of their claims to be ok for homes with cats.

Here is the one that we have fitted, but disabled for the room they are kept in when out......

we turned off the motion sensor and got a audio sensor installed instead. this works well to detect if someone breaks a window.

we tried pet friendly sensors and they were useless, cats still set them up

we then changed them for air pressure ones and they have been fine, you can walk round house with alarm on but as soon as a window or door is opened it activates alarm

well I found that quickly :)

the sensors are called Pyronix veritec P2, no idea if still available but I would expect there to be similar about

they are combination PIR and air pressure but we disabled the PIR ( jumper inside the unit)

I've got Visonic PIRs up around my house and had them in my last house too. Two cats and a dog have only ever set them off once in several years. A walk test by myself, even doing my best ninja impression sets them off pretty quickly though.
