Hi

Sold Forza 6 Motorsport for Xbox One, I knew something was amiss as the buyer wouldn't leave feedback upon receipt of item. Then tonight receive the following message.

Just had my Xbox One sent to me today and was really excited about the game but it won't install. Tried online as well as offline but nothing. I noticed that the disc is got a marble affect on the back and I compared this with a sealed game that came with the Xbox One (Rise Of The Tomb Raider) and this is installing smoothly. I would like a refund please as I am not happy you sold me a faulty game.

What to do now?

:/

one of the biggest issues with e-bay, did you have buyer protection?

I mentioned via message, in the auction image the disc is spotless.

Still don't know what the buyer means by marble effect though, I asked them to explain it?

And forwarded a guide to install Games, but disable the queue of updates for it so it will install. I know there is time yet, but in about 30 minutes of responding, not heard a peep...

I would have thought better from a buyer with 400+ feedback, but it takes allsorts.

Now he is saying this marble effect means, the disc looks warped, hence the game will not install.

I have a bent buyer here...Only taken 50 minutes to come up with that excuse.

Accept a return but only refund him when you receive the item back. IME it's usually just buyer remorse and you will get your game back in the condition you sent it.

They always use the 'it's faulty' card as you're then supposed to pay for return postage but eBay/PayPal don't have the power to force you.

He probably got it cheaper as a Black Friday deal or something.

Sounds like he's got a knackered disc and has bought yours to replace it for free.

Are the numbers around the hole on the bottom of the disc unique? If you've got a picture of the bottom of the disc and you can see them, get him to send it back and compare them.

I didn't know there were numbers on the bottom of the disc, I didn't study them. Nor did the Camera capture them.

Boo!

I have a chancer here.

That's not a bad shout. Is the number visible in the listing picture at all? You could tell him you will check the number before any refund is made. If he is trying it on you will not hear from him again.

Ah that's a shame, you can always tell him it's security marked, that sometimes works.

TBH though it's probably what I've already said. You will get the game back and it will still be saleable.

Cheers.

I hope I do receive it back as per auction listing and images.

How can I enforce he returns it at his own expense? I thought eBay overrule this and will make me pay?

Just tell him to return it at his expense and you will refund him. The silly thing is there isn't any way you can actually repay him the return postage, and Ebay/PP don't have the power to remove funds beyond the sale price.
