I hate clothes shopping, but especially for casual shoes / smart trainers.

Black seems the safest colour because it goes with any style/colour of jeans but there is a fine line between looking like your wearing work shoes, or looking like you have try too hard trainers on.

I do like brown, but depending on the shade they don't always go well with jeans.

any ideas?

No more than £100

Thanks

As above, dark plain indigo jeans. Double monks in brown, smarter leather or suede chukkas in brown. Chesea's are another option in suede or leather and either black or brown.

I'd suggest that black is an inherently smarter or more formal colour. Brown is richer and tends to match jeans better as a result of being more casual.

Clarks Desert Boots, for casual but more smart than trainers.

Converse (or similar) for casual.

I don't wear shoes ever with jeans.

I recently got some brown brogue style boots. Look smart but not like you should be wearing a suit or anything. I like wearing them with dark blue jeans.
