I have just been awarded a £300 voucher for reaching 25 year milestone at my company :) Going to treat myself to some pc upgrades :D

Any suggestions? 6800k? Wait for kaby lake? New monitor? Decisions decisions....

Your setup seems to be quite solid at the moment and considering that you are running at 1440p then the 2500k should be keeping up just fine. What sort of storage configuration are you rocking? could consider a high speed ssd (if your mobo supports nvme etc)

I would hang on for a bit as new releases for cpus seem to be on the horizon, if that is the route you are looking to take

Currently have a samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd and various mechanical drives for storage.

I'm thinking hold on for a 7700k but the money is burning a hole and January is a while to wait :p

Sorry to be blunt and off topic, but £300 for twenty five years? Most companies I've worked at give gifts in the thousands for 10 years???!!!

I'd move jobs mate, you've wasted a 3rd of your life at a place who doesn't give a monkeys about their staff. Do you even get a smidge of a bonus? Probably not.

better than a cake and a card that some places give too

Wait till the new releases I would. The post above.... Little bit harsh.

Haha, yeh you are right, it's pretty poor.

But i usually get a decent bonus every year.

Actually, I apologies, my comment was out of line, it's much better than some places I'm sure.

As others have said, I'd wait until January, I've been advised the same.

Congrats at 25 years! Not many people can boast about such a commitment to a job these days.
