Echo Arena Parking

Chaps, i am going to see Richard Ashcroft in concert on wed 7th Dec at the Echo Arena. I am intending to park there and i will have a long drive after the gig. Im not too bothered about paying the rip off parking prices on this occasion but am i likely to be stuck in a long queue of traffic after the event trying to get out the car park. If so is there another car park i can use between the hours or 7pm to 11pm.

Has anyone used this carpark at can vouch that there wont be congestion getting away after the gig.

I have a spare standing ticket should anyone be interested.

To be fair, I've never had a problem getting out from the main car park after an event. The most it's taken me is about 30mins. There is also a Q Park over the road and the Liverpool One car park just down the Strand. If I drive into town I usually park at the NCP at the top of the Strand. It's a bit more of a walk but it's always dead in there!

As Street said, there are a few options over the road and nearby that may make getting out a little easier. Is the train not an option? The Echo is only a 5-10 minute walk from 3 different stations

Thanks For the info. There does not appear to be one across the road, it shows up on google maps but it says its closed, the one on Liver st. I can prebook the Liverpool One for £7 and thats 6pm to 2am. Its a 10 minute walk which i dont mind. Do you think its worth the 20 mintutes of walking or do you think i should take a chance with the Echo Arena car park. I would rather walk for 20 minutes than sit in a queue for 20 minutes, depending on the weather of course.

Thanks mate, i had a look and the nearest one seem to the the car park that street has suggested. Something to bare in mind with parkopedia, their prices are sometimes out of date, i parked at a train station and it told me it was a flat rate of £5 for the day, it had been changed to £12 but because there was no other parking nearby i had to pay it. That was in Coventry.

Cheers for the reply and the train would be a good idea but im 10 miles from Coventry and the late trains dont run late enough. I might just prebook the Liverpool One and that way i wont be stuck in a queue.

The Liverpool Q park is right across the road, and has a lovely walk from it to the arena via the Albert Dock (you'll walk past bars, restaurants, the dock, the big wheel and plenty more). I doubt you'd need to prebook as it's huge, but I wouldn't want to be the reason you miss out on a spot

I'd say it's worth the walk as you (should) spend no time at all getting out.

The Liver Street one I was on about is the John Lewis car park. As far as I know it isn't closed! I'd rather the 10 minute walk to either John Lewis or Liverpool One, shouldn't have any problems leaving them really.

That's what I do all the time now. Return on the train is peanuts from me into Lime Street. Even the dog loves it when I take him into Dead Crafty Beer!

Driving Newcastle to Glasgow M74 J1A

I'm driving to Glasgow city centre tomorrow and will be parking up at NCP King Street. Looking at Google Maps it looks like J1A of the M74 is the place to get off.

Anyone driven this route before?

Oh well its worth the walk and ill take in some of the scenery. Its cheaper if you prebook it, i have not done this before but the prebook prices on the website are cheaper. I wasnt think it would be full

Yes sounds like a good plan, ill just book the car park and take the walk, see some of the sites. I just pray it wont be pelting with rain.

Im from Scotland and i stayed in Glasgow for 2 years, i also would travel along that part of the m74 every day. That junction or the next one would be fine, depending on the time of day that part of Glasgow can be very busy but normally the m74 does not get too congested.

Excellent. I should be arriving around noon and will be parking up for 24+ hours. Hope there are plenty of empty spaces in the NCP carpark. I get a discount from the hotel.

You should not have any congestion problems at that time but i cant vouch if there will be spaces or not. It is a very big but busy car park, any time i used it there was always spaces.
