***Not a medical thread - I know the problem and the remedy, this concerns sourcing the latter.***
Can anyone associated to or having connections with the medical or pharmaceutical profession please explain why there appears to be a shortage of medicines to treat haemorrhoids? Without going into grisly detail I had a flare up last week and after it didn't die down on its own decided to buy some suppositories in order to treat it.
Tried several chemists locally, none had any in stock and all commented that they cannot get hold of the product. Online not much better with Amazon out of stock or suppliers charging a premium price - up to £400 for 24 "bullets". Ebay the same. I eventually tracked down some Boots own brand on their site, just hope they're actually effective.
It's been a right pain in the bum (let's get the obvious pun out the way) but in between the mockery which is sure to follow my OP, I would be interested to know why it is so difficult to get a treatment for a very common problem.
