He is one seriously hard guy, that roo could have ripped his intestines out with one kick.

Indeed - but from what I recall they tend to base their reaction on who is taller (one of the first things they do when facing off is stretch to their full height - notice how its stance changes and bounces up as it turns to the guy) and the smaller one generally won't initiate. If he'd been shorter a good chance he'd probably have been eviscerated.
